Any tennis fans?

I know back on another tennis forum there are lots of gay tennis fans. I love the sport. It is such a great way to meet new guys and friends. I've joined a social hitting group - very big in Sydney and also joined comp where I get to hang out and meet the guys and have more time with them.
I haven't really made close friends with anyone yet but I'm hoping to. Everyone there is so nice and I get to play the sport I love.
The only thing is when I play comp I get into comp mode and forget to take it easy and have fun… especially since they are all gay guys.

Definitely a tennis fan here! I've played for years and really is the only sport that I follow 24/7. Favorite tournament: The Australian Open

I was a fan from about the mid 70’s through the 90’s–rooting for the likes of Borg, and Lendl, and Agassi on the men’s side, and Goolagong (Goolagong-Cawley), Wade, Sanchez-Vicario, and Martina (of course) on the women’s--but for whatever reason, lost interest after that.
I remember, as a kid, enjoying and spending what seemed like hours in the garage, smacking and returning balls hit against the garage door
...and the total frustration in attempts at playing an actual game (with a real opponent) on the court. Forget about getting any type of rally going. It seldom went past volleying for serve.
Anyway, not much of a fan here.

Playing it is half the fun. You really should grab a cheap racquet and a buddy and go to a community court and play .Great for your court and you will get a better understanding of the game as well.

Love the game, some wonderful players on the circuits, seem to hit the ball harder as the years roll by. Men and women.

Been a big time tennis fan for 18 years, and it was Serena Williams, and her sister Venus who really got me into the game. As I watched them grow into legends, I discovered many other fascinating personalities and players along the way. I didnt get into mens tennis, until Nadal came along. I thought he was cute as fuck, so naturally I started to watch him more, and learn about the players who came up with him. Tennis has changed a great deal. I've seen the highs and lows, the good and the bad, and so much history in between, but it's a love I cherish, and I wouldn't be me without my love of tennis.
Favorite Slam: Wimbledon; Australian Open (SO MUCH FUN!!!)

Steffi Graf is still the queen for me. Started watching and playing during her days. Steffi and Boris (Becker) were my idols during that time but mainly Steffi. Copied her shots - serve, forehand, slice backhand and loved it when she won almost everything. Hated Monica Seles as she took Steffi's throne but glad that there was someone to rival her. Now I mainly watch Roger Federer and I'm glad Martina Hingis is back even if it's just playing doubles. Not really a fan of Djokovic nor Murray and hated Nadal (especially his on-court antics).
I stopped playing about 5 years ago due to shoulder injury and basically got bored of the same people to play with. I should play again before I get really old and lose agility.
I watch the Aussie Open when I have time to go to Melbourne (like this year) and just a couple of months ago watched the US open live in NYC. In a few years, I'd like to watch Wimbledon and the French Open and that's my grand slam.

I fall in and out of love with the game. I enjoy playing singles for the competitive drive; I love playing doubles for the social aspect. I get excited and want to play during the Grand Slams but then get suckered into another sport or activity.
I love :love: :love: :love: Venus Williams :love: :love: :love: and super proud of what she has accomplished in recent years after her diagnosis. Amazed and inspired by her competitive spirit and continued desire to win tournaments when she could easily retire and focus on less physically demanding activities. I really don't like Serena at all (but I do applaud her accomplishments).
Not a big fan of the men's side, particularly since the pipeline for American talent hasn't produced anyone really worth rooting for since Andy Roddick. Jack Sock :drool: seems to be the current American player trending up though. Plus, I really only watch the men's side to see if any of the players are hot :masbana:. I'm more prone to watching full women's matches than men's.
