New Forum Software
-
Over the weekend, we will be changing to our new forum software. Our goal is for it to go live by Monday.
This means that the current forums will see reduced functions so we can transfer it over.
You will see that entire sections of the forums will go "read only". This is needed for the process. Once the new software is live, those threads/posts will fully function again, as usual.
Unfortunately, we will lose some newer posts (ie; posted this weekend). Feel free to repost after checking that it is gone.

It lloks very nice, but I miss some things: for example, now I can`t see the reputation points which were visible before.

Ah, ok. That's why I didn't see any reputation point. Thanks for the answer, @raphjd!

Such as shame. I quite liked how retro the old model and layout was. But oh well, what can you do.

I heard about online museums.. how about that ?

@domosuke I was hosting forums back in the day of phpbb2 and I sometimes miss the layout too.
That said, it's important to keep things up to date and there really isn't anything you could do with the old one that you can't do with the new one.
It's really clean.
That said, i've had to zoom out on my browser because everything looks "big". Minor quibble.

Who misses BBS? When WorldGroup BBS came out that was the best evah! A lot of fun when @Sysop would hit the disconnect button and made us all behave again.

Rolling out new software like this has to be a lot of work.
One feature of the previous layout was an option to show new responses to threads that I had posted one, which was very convenient. Is that available here? I haven't found it, but then I don't read "icon" very well. Thanks.

Click on your user icon in the upper right corner and then settings.

Hi, I don't know how many people still use IE, but the label on the permalink which lists the activity date in the upper right corner is missing.
Here is the snippet of a post using Chrome which is
correct:<small class="pull-right"> <i component="post/edit-indicator" class="fa fa-pencil-square pointer edit-icon hidden"></i> <small data-editor="" component="post/editor" class="hidden">last edited by <span class="timeago" title=""></span></small> <span class="visible-xs-inline-block visible-sm-inline-block visible-md-inline-block visible-lg-inline-block"> <a class="permalink" href="/post/269686"><span class="timeago" title="26 Jan 2021, 04:15" datetime="2021-01-26T09:15:03.783Z">**2 days ago**</span></a> </span> </small>
Note the 2 days ago in the last span.
Here is the snippet in IE:
<small class="pull-right"> <i class="fa fa-pencil-square pointer edit-icon hidden" component="post/edit-indicator"></i> <small class="hidden" component="post/editor" data-editor="">last edited by <span title="" class="timeago"></span></small> <span class="visible-xs-inline-block visible-sm-inline-block visible-md-inline-block visible-lg-inline-block"> <a class="permalink" href="/post/269686"><span title="2021-01-26T09:15:03.783Z" class="timeago"></span></a> </span> </small>
You will note that the contents of the last span, which should be "2 days ago" is missing.
This is the limit of my debugging ability to try to help.

Not sure if this is expected behavior or not as a result of the upgrade, but I've been having trouble logging into the site all week, frequently receiving "404 not found" errors. Today, I cleared my browser cookies for this site, but had the exact same issue logging in. It seems like if I navigate to the forums (https://community.gaytorrent.ru/) and login there, I have better luck and can then go back to the torrent search page. If I try to login from the torrent search page, it gives me the 404 nearly every time, though refreshing the page enough times will eventually get it to work. I've tried Firefox and Chrome with the same result and my Internet service is working fine otherwise (it's Verizon FIOS Gigabit).
I also switched to the beta search page (https://www.gaytorrent.ru/search.php) and it takes a lot more vertical space than the old search page (https://www.gaytorrent.ru/browse.php) 5 results versus 9 results in the same browser window height, so there's a lot more scrolling involved to go through each page of results. I definitely appreciate modernizing the forum, but feel that a smaller font and less margin / border around each row to get closer to the density of results on the old results page would be an improvement.
-
@gsrtorr Yup, I've been getting those 404 errors a few times these last few days as well.
