Candyman (19992). Amazing modern gothic. He is a great villain and Helen, the heroine is amazing, it's impossible not to feel for her. The movie is beautiful, smart, scary and also makes me cry.

My favorite horror movie from last year was The Endless.

            It's now available on Netflix.

Looking at last year's crop, I'll mention Annihilation (2018) and Hereditary (2018).

Horror focused on female protagonists, and to describe each in a word, the former, "trippy," and the latter, "bonkers," lol.

I already answered in a previous thread about a favorite classical horror movie (A Nightmare on Elm Street).

Also, one of my favorite ones is Poltergeist and all the parts. I love those movies, too.

The Exorcist is another of my favorite horror movies:

                        https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070047/

What I haven't seen is the TV series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exorcist_(TV_series)

Has anyone seen it? Would you recommend it?

Ringu is a masterpiece! I remember when I watched for the first time… OMG!

I watched the 2 sequels (Ringu 2 and Ringu 0) a little after, both are good but not as good as the first one.

After a long time I watched Rasen, the first sequel to Ringu, but it was such a weird experience, I understand why they pretended that this first sequel didn't exist and made Ringu 2 instead. Rasen changes the tone and makes the story something else, from the supernatural horror in Ringu we go to a sci-fi spin on Rasen. But it was a nice experience, something like a parallel world version.
