Mainly Classical - As the Late Great Kenny Everett used to say there is nothing like a bit of class.
I cannot live without Bach or Mozart. The Baroque, Classical periods are my favourites. Some Beethoven, Handel, Haydn, Schubert, Vivaldi, Scarlatti and so on. I like some 20th Century Music; most 19th Century music I detest.
I love pop from the 60's 70's 80's and early 90's. Europ pop from that period too.
Today's popular music I dislike.
I think most people don't try to listen to Classical music.
If you listen to Beethoven you'll learn all there is about Beethoven
If you listen to Bach you'll learn all there is about God.
If you listen to Mozart, you'll learn all there is about Humanity.Lovely quote. I wish I knew who said it.

I like a lot of the Baroque and a lot of the 20th century Russian composers. I'm not as fond of pure Classical or Romantic composers.
I'm hopeful that there's a new generation of artists learning their craft through Youtube. The music industry can give us Boyband after Boyband but it takes years of work and experimentation to develop someone like a David Bowie.

Folk metal, happy hardcore, chillwave, neo-polka, crunkcore, screamo, comedy rap, country truck-driving, dubstep, and homo-emo. :crazy2:

I love Pansy Division.
Queercore (or homocore), is a cultural and social movement that began in the mid-1980s as an offshoot of punk. It is distinguished by its discontent with society in general, and specifically society's disapproval of the gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender communities.
That means Homo Emo is not the same as Queercore!
-
Oh Hun!
I was involved in Queercore. I've just never heard of Homo Emo.

In what way were tou involved in Queercore?

In the '80s and early 90s i was park of a punk collective who put on shows twice a month. Some of the shows involved Queercore bands.
I'd also helped Will Monroe in Toronto organize Vaseline - which was a set of Queer parties..

And talking about that time frame, and Toronto, gives us the opportunity to mention the fabulous lipstick lesbian Carole Pope and her band, Rough Trade. Shows how far Canada was ahead of its neighbor in 1980, various awards and nominations to a woman singing luridly and lustily about another woman…
_She's a cool blonde scheming bitch
She makes my body twitch
Walking down the corridorYou can hear her stilettos click
I want her so much I feel sick
The girl can't help it, she really can't help it nowIt's like a highschool, high school confidential
High school, a high school confidentialTeenage Brandos stalk her in the halls
They tease her with cat calls
She's a combination Anita Eckberg Mamie van Doren

Who's that guy, is he screwing with her?
What's her perfume? Tigress by Fabergé
It makes me cream my jeans

I love Carole Pope.
Another Canadian queer band that had mainstream success with a gay rights anthem was The Parachute Club with Rise Up. It's a lot more pop.
