Hey everyone, I've been using Utorrent For years as my downloading and uploading torrent system, but I started getting a lot of unwanted pop ups and such from it to the point that I uninstalled the program. I was just wanted to know if someone would be awesome enough to suggest a new platform to start using. Thanks in advance for any advice  🙂

Indeed, the current version might as well be called malware, with those fucked up windows popping up all the time.

Many years ago, I thought I had been hacked, or had a virus!!! It was uTorrent, all along.

Many Internet searches later… hours spent researching this... I discovered "uTorrent Classic".

            Version 2.2.1, build 25302.

And... all was well, the kingdom prospered, and the people lived happily ever after.

            A Happy Ending!

            Take care,

I personally use qBittorrent. You can choose where to save torrents and set a default save location.

qBittir - I used it a while but had to go back uTor because of better features.

If only the old version(s) could be installed to a chosen location / portable.

huh? i use utorrent 2.2.1 (25130) and it is indeed portable…

ive literally just copypasted the exe from computer to computer over the years... as utorrent 3+ is just pure cancer, and all the other clients are somehow "lacking" in some regard (at least on windows)

another vote for qBittorrent here. Switched over from uTorrent a few years back. Very similar in look and function, so if uTorrent is past its best for you take a look for a familiar experience 🙂

Utorrent look exactly alike,.. and are made by the same company.  They are coded differently.

I would suggest trying Utorrent WITH the paid $5 per year option.  $5 a year is worth being spared those ads.

Im glad I saw this. I was using version 3.5 but it wouldn't stop crashing lately, so i've changed to 2.2.1 now after reading this.

Just to let you know though, you could switch the advertising off in utorrent, its in the settings, you don't need to pay to get rid of it. There are no adverts in 2.2.1 though  🙂

                              Hmm maybe try 221…

                              I bet it has holes?
