Me and my friends argued about it a lot. My personal idea is a gay can not be top only. Because being bottom is a great thing for a gay, so being top is. But some says they are only top, only fuck, they dont even kiss. I think people who say like that are pretending they are men not queer.

Some can also be penis size. It's not often talked about but you have to be long enough to be able to penetrate past spread cheeks… Some men can't do that.
Also, if you're going to talk about being total tops, then there are total bottoms. Tops could be seen as hypermasculine and the bottoms as hyperfeminized. Is that cultural or biological? If there's any real science in the rise in the (so called) trans movement, there might be a genetic component.

I am, and I'm very serious when it comes to that, I warn everybody I'm not going to change. I've been versatile in my first relationship but that was more than 10 years ago and I don't see that happening, it was a time to try everything but I'm sure now. There aren't rules on sexual preference…some guys like being penetrated, some don't. There's really nothing more to it than that.

My opinion is that being a top just means that you do not enjoy in any way to be penetrated, and only like to penetrate.
Aside from that there are other preferences and behaviors that can be tied to being a top, but arent necessary. That includes not liking sucking dick, being dominant, being distant, not kissing and generally displaying a "straight" behavior. Until you get to the ultimate stereotype that combines all these.For me its a matter purely of biology. I have tried many times to be the receiver, with different guys but I just dont get any satisfaction mentally or physically. Even when it doesnt hurt, its boring me out.
