Ben Affleck "The Best Batman Ever" – blasphemy, yeah or nay?
-
There's not much activity going on in the forums here, so I'm posting a few topics to see if I can't goad you all into some conversation.
m(_ _)m
I can't decide if this should go in general news or under movies.
Anyway, short of making a poll, what do you think? Who was the best Batman?
Here's the article.

I'm in teh group that thinks Will Arnett in Lego Batman was the most accurate version of Batman yet.

Accurate, like how?

I think it's too early to say that, since Ben has yet to release a solo Batman movie (The Batman is still on pre-production)
For Batman movies, I agree with this article

What I mean about the Lego Batman character being the most accurate….
While there's a pretty broad range for Batman characterization in the comics - none of the live-action movie Batmen show any of the derangement and personality problems that are core to the character. Without that edge of serious personality problems the villains tend to be more interesting than the Batman.
Lego Batman had both the superficial playboy persona of Bruce Wayne with the cynical and manipulative loner Batman as alternate versions of the same egomaniac who is convinced that he can take on supervillains with expensive toys.
I did  Heath Ledger's Joker. I'll make the argument that his character was the anti-hero of the movie who did more to expose the corruption of Gotham than Batman ever managed.

Well, which version excludes the comic book film adaptations. For example, the Batman from the new Harley Quinn movie makes the live-action Batman in Batman & Robin look like Shakespear. :spank2:
I agree that the Nolan/Bale is the best live-action Batman which has a lot to do with all the character building they were able to do over three films, plus the genius of the director.
I like the Ben Affleck Batman because Affleck is developing his Bruce Wayne. When Bruce Wayne is well constructed then Batman comes alive. I really began to notice just how much Bruce Wayne matters in watching the tv series, Gotham. After four seasons we're finally getting a Batman with a Bruce Wayne and the budding duo is working well.
For that reason, I disagree with the person (sorry I can't see your name from this page) who said that Lego Batman is the best version. Lego Batman may have nailed just how broken a person the character is, which IS very cool, but I prefer either the Affleck or Makinze versions.
BTW, have either of you seen the original Batman from 1943? He's come a long way.

Is this the retro serial that have 15 Chapters and starring Lewis Wilson as Bruce Wayne/Batman? The first one being "The Electronic Brain"?. If yes, then I have only watched Electronic Brain, The Bat's Cave and The Mark of the Zombies.

Would you marry me?

Would you marry me?
:urock:In order for me to marry you, first we have to kill my husband and then we will be criminals and happily ever after would be like nil. So however, tempting, No :funny2: :funny2: :funny2:
Kidding aside, I have the full 15 chapters of that Batman 1943, although I have only watched the first 3 chapters (maybe one of these rainy days, I will have a movie marathon on the last remaining 12 chapters)

Perhaps on an alternate version of Earth Bruce Wayne must kill his husband to become the Batman. You might be missing out on a great opportunity. ;D
I found those years ago and enjoyed the camp and retro feel. The old Superman TV show was pretty fun too (spoiler: he's fat).
About a different universe, did you watch The Inhumans?

We're getting off topic, but to answer your question, No. Is it any good? I find Anson Mount ruggedly sexy

TBH, he's outta shape for Blackbolt. You can see a little belly in some scenes. Having him be utterly silent is a mistake. They need to establish that he's either able to communicate telepathically or his sign language needs to really step up, or even a technology fix. As it is, he looks at someone and they understand complex thoughts. It's…a questionable choice.
Back to the Batman, who is the most convincing Bruce Wayne and do you think that matters in the characterization of the Batman?

Personal opinion of course, Christian Bale, he has the aristocratic looks of a notorious playboy (as Bruce Wayne) and in Batman's costume (for lack of better word) he is formidable. Acting wise, he is good.
BTW, only Lewis Wilson comes close to Batman's age 23 and 25 respectively, all other actors were in their 30+

Ben Affleck is borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring and the worst batman.
