Which brand of desktop computer r u guys using?

considering purchasing a new one for win operating system, and suggestions？

I never bought any "brand" as it's way better to build your own.
I suggest Asus as motherboard, I7 as processor ( for medium budget), Western digital as hard drive ( for non SSD ), Corsair as power unit and memory. -
I second gayparha2's motion for Asus… I'm using an Asus right now actually..
Aside from Asus, if you wanna go badass and you want something that's already assembled, you might want to check out Alienware

Did you hear about the new flood of exploits that affect Windows versions before 10, and that the vast majority of people never upgrade?
Macs are constantly upgraded, for free. All patches are free. Whole new versions of the MacOS are free.
When you add all of that up, Mac is cheaper.With Windows, you have to make an extra effort to upgrade.
With Mac, you would have to make an extra effort to NOT upgrade. -

That is actually not true. there are still no viruses that affect macs in the wild. they have all either been developed by white hats and then mac made updates so they do not work; or they have been other kinds of malware that are not viruses.
The only os safer than a mac is a chromebook.

I built my own as well… so no brand...
But the motherboard and some parts are Asus!!

thx guys…...but thing is i barely know tech stuff.....which makes it hard for me to build my own......plus.......tech guys that sell computer components and help ppl build them r usually with bad reputations :-[
i m not considering another product from apple.....apparently some useful applications i need can't be run under an OS system......and it would be a total waste to install a win system in a MAC
as for asus, i noticed some users complained that its self-brand computers r not as good as the its motherboards
and that Alienware? from dell right? why do i feel it s even more expensive than MAC :afr:

I too am not very tech savvy and didn't know which way to go either.I ended up buying a mac mini for the entertainment hub in my house.Here's what I opted for. i7 ,16gb ram,1TB SSD.I bought a legit copy of windows 10 (which runs perfectly BTW)and gave 200gb over to that partition.It may sound like a lot of money but I think for such a high spec system which can run both Mac and Windows..I'm delighted with it.You can run both systems at once with Parallels or similar programmes but I just boot up on whichever system suits me at the time.

What applications? For pretty much every major program except games, there is either a Mac version, or a similar program for Mac that is file-compatible. (and games are starting to catch up, thanks to Unity and other game engines.)
I was once a graphic designer, and I loved CorelDraw, and hated Illustrator. CorelDraw is only Windows, while Illustrator is on both, so I ran CorelDraw though Parallels on the Mac, and Illiustrator as a native Mac program.

What is the purpose of your new computer? Gaming? Look for an i7 with a good graphics card. Productivity? Look at a Ryzen possibly.
I've built several computers over the years, but the truth is nowadays, it's kind of hard to save money doing so. You actually do need to wait for sales to be able to save any money at all. On top of that you have to spend some time putting it together, and have higher risks of having to return defective components.
I suggest keeping your eye out on techbargain or slickdeals websites for nice sales on desktop computers. You can also check out computer boutique stores (e.g. cyberpower) which custom build desktops using name brand components, if you want a custom feel, or if you want something right now.

building own computer is not about saving money but about carefully choosing your components to fit your needs, it's a tailor made computer, hence " Personal " Computer.

For basic desktops/gaming desktops, there are many outfits that customize computers with name brand components at a price point just as cheap, if not cheaper than you can do for yourself.

thx dear， but i wanna add sth abt dual computer system…....back to my first macbook pro, i installed both os and win system.......however when i used the latter one, computer crashes frequently occurred......which eventually caused the permanent damage of its wifi module

this is what i want : Intel
Core i7 Processor, 1 TB HDD + 256 GB SSD storage , 8GB graphics , a good motherboard, better with a dvd drive
