I'm still a beginner at anal play and all I have a dildo and a smaller buttplug. The buttplug is pretty easy but I'd say the dildo is pretty average size but every time I use it, my ass gets really sore. I know not to clench when I insert it and sometimes I do it by reflex but right now, it's unthinkable for me to do this every day it's just hours of light burning soreness.

When does this get easier if it does?

It's different for every person. Some people just aren't wired to be able to bottom. I have enjoyed doing so in the past, but then follow up with nasty prolapsed hemorrhoids (a quarter sized, super tender lump hanging out of my hole, making it hard to do normal bathroom functions or to clean up after such), making it not worth it to me. I'll have issues if I even use a narrow toy, so I just avoid it. And deal with the people who say "everyone's verse; there's no such thing as all top or all bottom," with a polite explanation, and watch their face twist in horror. It's quite amusing.

But lest I scare you away, for other people, they eventually get used to it and find it extremely enjoyable. And then there are others who never feel the pain in the first place. (Lucky guys, those.) There are some guys who can take a real dick but not a toy, too. And of course, there are the kinky guys who get off on the pain itself. Your mileage is going to vary.

Double backed a bit there. But when I was starting out I guess I can see that appeal of pushing through. I think the thing I'm most worried about is if I'm doing too much damage now that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to do it later.

Lube! This is the most important thing ever… and don't just think one lube fits all, try different ones as you might be reacting to the lube and not the toy.. saying that you could also react to the toy which creates the soreness.. Try a condom on it!

Start slow, work your hole slowly until its all lubed up and open ready to go.

            Good luck

I believe that a little pain is expected and that tingling bit of pain helps to amplify the sensitivity of the nerves for the pleasures of being probed by the penis.

I used to fear that stabbing pain of initial penetration and so prefer not to have anal sex.
Later when my fbuddy gave me no choice in sex, I learn to adapt to accept that stabbing pain of initial penetration and looking forward to the rewarding pleasures later.
As my fbuddy always sleazily telling me, "Take the pain, get the gain, fuck the shame"

I agree with you to not overdo it though.

                I like to talk dirty.

Honestly, toys don't feel "real" & you can expect soreness from them.
