Jeff Sessions: "good people don’t smoke marijuana"
www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/2/23/14717638/sean-spicer-trump-marijuana-legalization
Apparently Trump is going to crack down on states that legalized marijuana for recreational use.
Sessions also 180ed on the private prisons issue, he's now for private prisons.

Considering Trump sells booze I don't see how he can oppose it. I'm sure his cheap vodka has killed a few people or at least resulted in some DUI's.

That's exactly why he apposes it.

That "states' rights" argument is about to go right out the window because the Corrupt Racist Elf (Sessions) is going to go after the states who have legalized recreational marijuana. And since the Corrupt Racist Elf is reversing the federal government's stance on for-profit prisons, I think it's fair to say a lot of weed smokers of all ages are going to be entered into the criminal justice system to boost for-profit prison stocks. Obviously, this is what those 77,000 voters spread across Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan wanted; more prisoners in for-profit prisons instead of jobs plans to get them back to work. MAGA, right? :blind:

I really am a conservative BTW, but the absurd corruption in the republican party is astounding… The party lures voters in with their political ideals and then just hands money to corporations as soon as they get power. Contrary to common belief, slavery is still legal in the United States, you just have to be a prisoner (the government pays for the process and incarceration.) So this makes a lot of sense to me regarding corporate profits. Take all the people who voted for legalization, throw them in prison, then make them work for next to nothing. This sounds like a great idea to invest in, if all you care about is money. It's the most evil thing I've ever heard of, but it will make money for sure.

AND?!
Virtually every politician flip flops on issues.
As a state level politician, Obama supported marriage equality. As soon as he decided to run for the US Senate, he was against marriage equality. He was also against GWB era illegal mass surveillance on US citizens, but as President he expanded it beyond anything GWB could have dreamed of.
Papa Bush was against "voodoo economics" when he ran against Reagan in the primary. He loved "trickle down economics" the minute Reagan picked him to be his VP.
Tony Blair said he wasn't gonna raise taxes in the UK. Well technically, he didn't. What he did was move the position of VAT in the chain. Previously VAT was 2nd, after the product. So you only paid VAT on the product you were buying. Now VAT is at the end so you pay VAT on the product and all the other taxes, surcharges and whatnot. VAT is basically the same as sales tax.
I really am a conservative BTW
Who are you trying to convince with that "tall tale"? See, I'm trying to be polite here.
Just because you aren't at the total extreme end of the left side, doesn't mean you aren't hard left leaning. Everything you say either defends or panders to the extreme left.
-
AND?!
I stated a fact, freak out harder snowflake. You have a vested interest in private prisons or something? Who have a major conflict of interest; why would they rehabilitate their customers?

I'm extremely conservative, you're more liberal than me… I haven't seen you actually say anything conservative other than your childish rants against liberals that I'm sure you feel entitled to.
Edit: I've met people like you before, you hide in some dark corner of the internet to express your feelings about how you secretly hate liberals so much that you end up marrying one. The problem isn't that you hate liberals, it's that you hate yourself.

Well, I happen to think that Jeff Sessions is a mindless douchebag who could improve this planet by leaving it, so…. I guess we're even, aren't we? :bithfight:

The states rights issue within this administration is confusing at best. They continue to tout this BS about selling insurance across state lines. States have rights and many don't want to operate this way. I live in MA and this would be a disaster for my state.
