Organizing your torrents
-
How do you all keep your torrents organized? I'm approaching 700 torrents between 2 different trackers, and I don't know what do with it all. Do you guys have an active and archived media section, or do you just let it be a big mess, or what do you do?

I have the folders of the studios that I use to download already created:
When I finish a download, I rename the file following the pattern "Scene Name - Actors" and move them to the corresponding studio folder, it looks like this:
If I want to see a scene with a particular actor, just search for his name in the folder search field and all the videos of that actor appeared in the list.
After moving the file, I go back to Utorrent and relocate the file to continue seeding. The procedure to do this is in this tutorial: https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=19098.msg87887#msg87887
Still on Utorrent, I rename the torrents in the list for something easy to identify and put them on labels with the studio name:
I organize to get everything simple and easy to locate when I need to find something.
Hope this can help you

Wow everything looks so clean and nice, thanks! I'll definitely try this out. Are you using an Apple computer? I like the way those folders look but I don't know if that's achievable on windows.

Thank you very much! That was my intention, to keep everything organized and clean to make it easy to find what I'm looking for.
I use Windows 7 and the folders myself created the designer in Photoshop, it's an easy but tedious process because you lose some time saving the logos of each site.
If you are interested in any icons I have or some other studio, I could be creating new icons for you and uploading them to some website and sending you the links by PM.

How can you start to organize:
First I advise you to create the folders of the studios, it does not have to be all that you have of beginning, but those that remember and as it separates the videos you will be creating new folders for them. After creating the folders, you need to pause all Utorrent files for a while until you finish organizing.
Now comes a boring part, you select all the videos from Men.com (may be another studio, it's your choice) in your current download folder and move these videos to the studio folder.
Once you've moved the videos from that studio to his folder, it's time to start renaming your videos. Always rename scenes one studio at a time, so if you decide to do as I did using "Scene Name - Actors," you do not need to have many tabs open in the browser looking for the information to rename, it would only be on one site.
After renaming the videos from the studio you chose, it's time to start all the files again in Utorrent, it will indicate which files are missing because they were moved from place to place, then start the part of organizing in the torrent program. As you have already renamed the videos in the folder, you just copy the name that is in the video to the name of the torrent in the download list, they will have the same names to exist a pattern. After renaming it in the list, you will relocate the videos as in the following tutorial: https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=19098.msg87887#msg87887
Once you've finished renaming and relocating the files, you can create labels with studio names and already place those videos on those tags.
PS: When it is time to Relocate the files, you should go to the folder, select all the files, right click and go to properties and uncheck the "Read Only" box and click Ok. If this box is checked, you can not reallocate , So it's good to Uncheck that before you begin to relocate.

After making the process in the folder and in utorrent for the specified studio, it's time to change the icon of the folder, as I did with mine, change the icon will be the last step and it will indicate that the folder of that studio is already organized.
The suggestion to organize only one studio at a time is to make it easier, since you said you have 700 Torrents, make it easier to do the process of renaming and relocating in Utorrent. Let's suppose: If you have 50 videos from Men.com, when you organize them and start all files in Utorrent, there will be 50 torrents for you to organize and these 50 are in the same folder. Making it easier to manage the names in the Utorrent Download list and relocate the files, because they are all in the same folder.
It's a time consuming process that requires patience, so be calm, when you get the hang of how to organize, it gets easier.
About changing the folder icon, if you do not know how to customize, I can teach when you send me the list of icons you want by PM. If you are willing, contact me by PM and keep me updated on how your organization process is going, I can ask questions if you have any.

Thanks for all the advice. Once I have some free time I'll start this out. It's kind of close to what I was doing already so it won't be too bad, just renaming everything is going to suck

You don't necessarily have to rename everything. Once you get everything into folders by studio it becomes much more manageable. Most folders don't have that many movies in them. It's easy enough to find what you want.

But if the folder has few files, it does not mean that it will always have few files, so keeping the few files renamed will avoid having to rename many at once when the folder is full of videos. Keeping a folder organized from the beginning avoids having to organize in the future, as new downloads are made, you already move the file to the studio folder and already rename it, without accumulating many to organize.

How do you find the actors and scene names for torrents that don't have either listed? OR in situations where you download a torrent that has tons of scenes from multiple studios and actors, based around a common theme? ex. 50 best barebacking videos
-
You would just need to know the actors names or at least be able to recognize the studio so you could go find the name.

The scenes that I do not know the actor or the name, I usually leave to rename after. But each scene, has the studio logo in some corner, so you can separate by studio based on the video logo. Then you can enter the studio site and try to find some actor that is in the video to filter the results. There is the area here in the forum "Who is this? What video is this?" (https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?board=108.0) That you could be putting prints of the scenes for people to help you. It's a time-consuming process, but slowly you get the result you want.

I sort mine by production company.

From controlled to chaos I'm now again moving steady towards controlled
uTorrent is by far the best to micro manage torrents.
If your files are scattered around Windows 8/10 has creative tools to form a common pool - but instead I'd suggest keep partitions minimum on drives, use GPT over MBR hmm what else: Get Clover3 or QT Tabbar for File Explorer. Like all of the File Explorer alternatives on MS Store are limited compared to "good" old Explorer.
Get AMT - Auto-Movie-Thumbnailer, it's very easy to use and it's fast at creating thumbs of vids. It supports mp4 which many other thumbnailers don't.
