I suspect that some users make and upload bigger than necessary video files only for the sake of improving their ratio. Some big files even do not meet the quality expectation, and may have even be re-coded just to make them bigger. I came to the idea when I downloaded 2GB avi file with very high bit-rate. Just wanted to share this concern, what do others think?

Secondly, I would just like to ask if anybody knows the reason why movie files are lately uploaded with torrent names like
      mp4gaymoviemp4 or aviothermovieavi?

If it's not a single file you can select some parts/single-files of the torrents and check the quality before downloading the rest.

And yes, upsizing a movie for the sake of ratio is a bad habit but on the other hand in some cases it's just that the filesizes have grown much in the last few years according to new tech.

Erm, basically that's because that's how that uploader wants to do it - possibly to try and hide the name, who knows?

:true: uploader sort of "coding" his uploads, also he is giving the format of the film. That's the way the uploader wants it

thank for the info. i can't make it out. it would be readable with spaces or full stops.

so, both issues are bad habits.  😠

Yes, both bad habits but I think upsizing is more baaaad.  😉

You can change the name back, that's reversable - but I don't know if you can undo the upsizing without quality loss?

Upscaling the file size is not "illegal" yet, on the site.  I too have noticed this nasty trend, and I am not impressed.    I'm hoping that this will soon be banned.

Purposely renaming torrents to jibberish is NOT allowed, see the condensed site rules thread.
