Janet King TV Series (AU)
-
Sticking with the theme of procedural dramas. Janet King is now airing its second series with the last episode of series 2 airing next week. It is worth checking out.
Clip of the trailer is from Series 1.
-
On your say-so S02e01 downloading now.
Thanks
-
Starting with series 2 might get you a little confused. Part of the story carries over from the first season. If you need any holes filled in (no pun) let me know.
-
I've been enjoying this series too… I only tried it because I liked Marta Dusseldorp so much in A Place To Call Home. Great Actress!
-
Just watched s02e01, on that basis I grabbed the rest of the series from usenet.
I looked through the Wikipedia page of S01 episodes but didn't see what happened to her partner.
I gather she got shot sometime in mistake. Should I know more?
I think (?) I can work out the rest, if I need to, thanks
-
Don't think this is a spoiler. The first mention of what happens with her partner is in series 2.
If yo have never seen Marta Dusseldorp before I think you will like her.
As lilac tree mentioned A Place to Call Home I became addicted to that as well. More of a family saga.
-
Thank you, I can watch the rest of the series knowing I haven't missed an essential ingredient…
I think I will take a rain check on A Place called home - Can't cope with too may series at once.
-
It does become overload especially when binge watching.
-
Series 2 wrapped up last night. Wont give anything away but it was very good.
-
thanks, leeniedo, I'd almost forgotten. Just grabbing episode 8 from usenet now
Now I just need time to watch the series
-
I do like these british/australian series that are 6-10 episodes a series. Some of the US ones are just too drawn out.
-
Yhe ones that piss me off are those where the first series comes to a decent ending, the producers find out that they have a hit and stretch the series into two or three.
The number one culprit for me was Homeland. Great first series then they conned me into watching a crap second series. And I refused to be tempted by anymore…
Gotham, Grace and Frankie...two more that come to mind that went past their watch-by date
-
I so agree with you about Homeland. The first series was incredible. Second was so-so and then I stopped watching it. Some shows stay on way past their sell by date.
The Good Wife was a show that probably should have wrapped up last season. For a long running show was still very good. Nurse Jackie ended at the right time. As far as finale episodes of series I still think the best for a long running series ever was Six Feet Under. Worst for me was probably The Sopranos.
-
Well, I'm halfway through Janet King and quite enjoying it but there are times when I'm shouting 'get on with it'. There are scenes when they drag things out or have irrelevant stuff going on.
They could probably have wrapped it up in half the time.
-
I agree I was all set at episode 6 thinking it was going to be wrapped up then I realized there was 8 and not 6 episodes. Its good but series 1 was better. Not saying series 2 is bad…....
-
Well, I finally lost patience and skipped from episode 4 to episode 8 and didn't feel I'd missed anything.
Far too much looking from side to side while the dramatic music played (it was like a bad X Factor), far too much looking of all kinds. The whole thing needed a damn good editor, it was so self-indulgent that the director should have been changed.
I won't give the ending away but I did wonder in about episode 1 or 2, why the woman was in the show.

Sorry to hear you didn't like it. Sounds like you were in a bad seat watching a tennis match. Hate the side to side seats.
