Same Sex Marriage is one of the most funded.

My only concern is we shouldnt forget other peoblems to us LGBT. We should never forget about homeless teens and also HIv Cure.

To me, more attention and acceptance brings more support for other LGBT challenges. Scientist are working non-stop to find a cure for HIV/AIDS with new developments almost every few months. Greater acceptance can do away with the ignorance behind families throwing kids out because of them being LGBT.

a nice sentiment , but how exactly does gay marriage help this??
if you look at it without being emotional , the ideology behind it is ludicrous. BUT gay marriage will open the door for xyz ( ad nauseum ) it will not Im not begrudging anyone the right to declare , publicly their love but we need to prioritise homelessness, immigration reforms in western 1st world nations , discrimination, and transgender issues, before saying: “This is a once-in-a-movement chance to alter the future of every successive generation and same sex marriage is going to do just that " when all it is really going to improve is the tax standards of middle to upper class DINK gays, who have the resources to burn and none of the socio economic hurdles low economic couples or those of colour may face.In my country Australia we have a nasty mob called the A.M.E ,well funded and IMO as bad as the right wing mob. these guys will have no bar of the civil union model that a lot of people worked hard for in the nations capital A.C.T , the union bill affords all the rights of a hetero couple all bar the word Marriage itself ,
surely this is a good thing , but no , i have been to a few AME discussions where they have stated its like getting a dog registered , that in itself is higly disrespectful for the people that fought 6 years to even have the Bill introduced ,let alone see it struck down twice before a change in government saw it come back to stay. why the desperate need to join an institution that itself is discriminatory to all those that are not part of it , an institution that in itself discriminates who is entitled to what , should not be something we aspire to be a part of ,we should be aspiring to make all avenues of life equal to all , not just those that are married. -
I think it's a false starter to claim that same-sex marriage doesn't have any role in changing the way that society and especially young people view homosexuality and its acceptability. It isn't just about taxes, and civil unions ARE an insult because they're the propagation of the "separate but equal" doctrine that has been foisted upon SO many minorities over time. There is no reason that we can't focus on transgender rights, homelessness, immigration issues, discrimination, etc, at the same time we demand marriage equality. It's false to pretend that somehow activism in one part of society is going to deprive another part of society of support. If people want to support all those things they will, be support what is important to them. In terms of HIV/AIDS, it is not a "gay" problem at all, it is a worldwide problem, more women than men are being infected, there is no way the fight for same-sex marriage is going to slow the battle for a cure for AIDS. As a scientist, I can tell you we will never stop researching or trying to make new discoveries in ANY field, much less one that is as important as HIV/AIDS.
