Having lived in Florida for many years I know that it would have been a fairly easy process to have this man placed under a "Baker Act" that would have involuntarily confined him for 72 hrs for evaluation at least. It would have had the potential for a longer confinement if found to be necessary.
This is truly a sad state of affairs indeed and raises more questions than answers provided thus far. :cry2:
I can see why the hate crime charges didn't stick its pretty hard to convince any jury (let alone one in texas) that 4 people are homophobic when theres doubts as to their own sexuality you got the bisexual sister and wife, the guy that wanted to sleep with the victim and the one that would have done it to pay for their drugs …
