I am on the same page with you. I am a member of 2 other similar platforms and I've always favored this one over those two. But my perception is that things are getting worse. Indeed, a simple google search will many times point you directly to this site but that is precisely what is concerning.

Older equipment might pose an issue: I have a 2015-ish Sony "smart TV" with USB inputs. Sometimes it will play a video I've downloaded on this site, and sometimes not. I solve the problem with "Movavi Video Converter" that will convert virtually any format to any other format. I think it was about $50 US for a lifetime licence.

I have a custom setting in the software that uses codecs that I know my TV will accept. Sometimes the file size increases on conversion, which isn't a problem unless it becomes larger than 4GB which is the upper limit for a FAT32 file system. In that case, I use the same software to split the video into pieces.

Yes, I noticed that too. I think studies are also suffering from the OF trend, most people get first a name there, and then they are contacted, I guess is good for sourcing new performers but bad for the business since they would demand better payment. I'm also curious how much money do they actually get by working for a studio, I guess not much.

This whole "legendary star" thing is coming off to me as a gimmick, but after so many seasons, I understand the pursuit for something new.

@john32123666 We shouldn't confuse upscaling with re-encoding. Upscaling, when done properly, is a skill and it takes a lot of time, effort and money (the software is not cheap) to properly restore and upscale a low-res video

On there other hand there are users ,who appear to have little or no knowledge of digital compression, who are running very recent H.264 encoded videos through a free program they downloaded from the net and re-encoding them with a H.265 codec, often at a different resolution, bitrate, frame rate, colour space.... 😠 The resulting videos are of a much lower quality, as anything encoded with two different lossy codecs will always be. Obviously if you're watching in poor light, on a phone screen covered in fingerprints you won't notice much difference, and I was told off recently for being old fashioned because "everyone watches porn on their phones nowadays", so maybe I'm just out of touch. 🤷‍♂️

My worry is that the original quality torrents are dying while these substandard versions are flourishing and that's frustrating

@dretafari Technically, a site only needs 1 site administrator to keep the site going. One person is sufficient to pay the bills and provide ongoing server maintenance.

The moderation of torrents and the forums probably requires multiple volunteers (and all of their work is much appreciated!). However, I don't think those volunteer moderators would have root access to the server to provide business continuity.

In any case, I also hope that this site stays online for many years to come 😃. I am relatively new to GTRU (but not to gay torrenting!), and I can't believe it took this many years to find this awesome place.

The studios must hate onlyfans and jff. It allows their performers to leave once they make a name for themselves and then to never look back at the studios. Studios are pimps. They produce manufactured plastic product. I guess some people like that so ok that's good for them but please give me authentic real guys having real sex. I do admit that some of the onlyfans stuff has turned into resembling studio crap.

Down with the studios! This does not include the original owners of sites like sean cody asg active duty... but once they are bought out they become just as stale.
