For those curious, I've done a little digging in Google's Transparency Report (https://transparencyreport.google.com), same as I did last year during similar circumstances. Some highlights:

As you might have expected, the number of requests have skyrocketed recently, reaching an all-time high last month (25k+). However, this isn't the first time this year that a very high number of requests has occurred: March and July featured similar peaks. Between these peaks, the number of requests substantially dropped to relatively stable levels. However, note that the more recent valleys still featured 3-5x more removal requests than in previous years. Clearly, takedowns are up both in general as well as during peak removal periods.

The most recent datapoint is Nov 24th. Nothing for December thus far, but it will be interesting to see what the next datapoint reveals.

They've always been one of the biggest takedown reporting organizations, but their most recent datapoint reflects by far the highest # of takedowns they've ever processed.

Interestingly, OnlyFans no longer seems to be making requests itself, which had been the case through the end of 2021. Since then, that figure has been nil. Why? Well, by far the highest reporting organization through that period of time was DMCA Force, which made its last request on Dec 22th 2021. Back then, the final significant peak of OnlyFans takedown requests occurred on November 15th 2021, followed by a sharp downturn in requests. This would seem to align with the wave of DMCA takedowns on this site which peaked, then abruptly disappeared toward the end of last year.

Finally, scanning through some of the recent requests on an individual basis:

• MG Premium Ltd. seems to process requests Monday through Thursday while taking the remaining days of the week off.

• Gamma Entertainment through DCMA Force does its big batch weekly on Sundays.

• Takedown Piracy LLC does its big batch weekly on Mondays.

Did some quick digging around on Google purely out of curiosity. A couple of things I noted:

• If you go to the following webpage (https://transparencyreport.google.com/copyright/owners/279096) you'll notice that the number of URLs requested to be delisted from Google for OF content has substantially increased in recent months. It's also interesting how the number of takedowns requested seem to go through significant peaks and valleys.

• Digging further into the link above, the DMCA Force---whatever that is---is by far the largest reporting organization. It's 4th biggest copyright owner? OnlyFans. It shows the last requested date as 11/16/21

• Found the gaytorrent.ru specific page of the Transparency Report site which shows each of the recent takedowns requested (https://transparencyreport.google.com/copyright/domains/gaytorrent.ru). From what I can tell, it looks like OF itself makes a request on the first of each month. The rest of the takedowns come from interests representing the industry as well as subscription services utilized by individual performers at various times. Also, without question, the number of requested takedowns has increased in recent months. To be a bit more precise, from <50/week pre-covid to ~100 early 2021 to 250+ currently.

• Some of the more popular detection services look to be Rulta and Ceartas. Their detection methods? "If the algorithm finds a result with photo or video content containing these terms on a leak site or subreddit,". Just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if one possible path forward would be to somehow scrub the site and username from each video? I don't think a simple cross out would work since the text would likely still be searchable by algorithms. Perhaps a reencoding would work?

• Another method: "“Apart from websites, we also search through Google search results,” continues Kerem." Anyway to prevent individual torrents from being indexed by Google?

If you don't mind, I was wondering why you guys ultimately came to that decision?

If that's an internal matter you wouldn't want to discuss publicly, that's fine of course. I was just curious.

I would say this is likely correct. When you consider that OF videos contain the name of the site and the users themselves, it would not be too difficult to develop image scanning that could detect such text and respond accordingly. My guess is the recent upturn in DMCA volume and speed is the result of either OF putting greater resources toward such detection or, perhaps, a switchover to superior software that would be able to do this.

Of course, it's all possible human detection could be in the mix. Either way, there doesn't seem like there's much that can be done to curb takedowns. The best advice may very well be to hold onto your videos for as long as you can until if and when things would change.

For those frustrated by getting to content too late, I would recommend an RSS reader that would be able to filter incoming content by category and/or specific text coupled with mobile or desktop notifications. Personally, I use Inoreader for this purpose, although awhile back they made significant changes to their pricing model so that filters and other advanced features are only available to paid subscribers. For me, this is not an issue as I use the service mainly for my business, but for casual users this could understandably be a deal breaker. And even then, with some torrents disappearing within minutes and us not always being available at a moment's notice to download new content, it's not an ideal workaround.
