It's freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences. She has a right to her opinion, just as a company she's employed with has the right to fire her ass. I've read articles and I didn't see anything about advertisers or financial backers insisting she be fired.

What's amusing is that the people defending her now are the same people that, when she was first introduced on the show, complained about her being a strong female character, that she was a Mary Sue, that The Mandalorian was just trying to be PC and add a strong female it didn't need to add.

I was a huge fan of hers from her MMA days and her movie Haywire. At the end of the day, she fucked around and found out. She's transphobic, an antimasker and compared being a Republican in America to being a Jewish person during the Holocaust. Girl, bye.

By the way, that is exactly how it works. You choose to spew garbage and people are free to call you out on it. When you are hired by a company and paid the kind of money she was getting paid, you have a responsibility. She's allowed to have her opinions, but it would not have cost a damn thing for her to keep her opinions to herself.

@raphjd You realize cancel culture was created by conservatives, right? From Kathy Griffin to Colin Kaepernick, to Brie Larsen, even as far back as the fucking Dixie Chicks. Conservatives LOVE to destroy property they've already paid for to make a "point".

And the irony is completely lost on these people that are canceling their Disney+ membership. You cancel it because they fired Gina. So you're people should be able to cancel things they disagree with.

Cancel culture is just accountability for adults.

@raphjd Having financially contributed to this site, it feels pretty shitty that you would go as far as to elude to “cancel” me. You don’t support me, I’m not your employee. If you wish to censor me for saying things you disagree with, that says more about you than it does me.

You’re treating this like it’s strictly a liberal thing, when both sides are guilty of cancel culture. It doesn’t matter who started it. What matters is the basis for canceling someone.
