I always make a quick trip to the toilet to have it checked before "it."
What I usually do is wet the "part" and get a lot of soap on it and stick my finger in it until it gets thoroughly cleaned. It is all dirty work when you do not get the appropriate paraphernalia for "it."
Do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly, too, and apply alcohol on your hand in cases of foul smell.
