I seem to be having the same issue however, I don't get to download at all. Once I add a torrent (freeleech one), it might download the first 3-4 seconds but then it stops and stays "Stalled". I did read the forum post you mentioned but I'm not sure what I could do as I feel it doesn't apply 100% to my scenario. Looking at my profile I am only leeching one torrent, does this not mean I should be able to download it?
