rayban099: That's hugely helpful… I loved Transmission from my Mac, but when I was setting up my NAS last year, I don't know why but I didn't find it great to set up Transmission on the NAS. I would much prefer it to qBittorrent (which has a TERRIBLE webUI).

I also have Docker installed - is your Transmission client from the SynologyCommunity group?

I would absolutely LOVE to be able to point my torrent client to a directory where something is stored... ATM qBittorrent only allows me to download/seed from one directory (/downloads) which drives me nuts...

Hi everyone - does anyone here torrent from a NAS? Keen to ask some more questions, such as:

1. Which client are you using on the NAS?
2. Which clients allow you to create .torrent files from the NAS directly - as I can't seem to get mine to do it!
3. Does anyone else have problems seeding from the NAS? My ratio has declined continuously since I moved everything over to that NAS I'm using…
4. My current client (qBittorrent from LinuxServer.io) won't allow me to put files back into the download directory and start seeding them again... so I get requests all the time for old torrents that I have the files for... but I can't reseed them

Any help at all would be really appreciated!

Pretty difficult request…

If it were me, I would open up HandBrake (download it for free if you don't have it...) and see what type of file it is. If HandBrake can read it, it is still a valid video file. Once HandBrake has read the file, convert it to something more suitable - MP4 or whatever.

Hopefully that will solve the issue for you.

Over the years, I've amassed a HUGE collection of spanking videos (over 5tb worth). I've been working over the last few months to clean these up, remove duplicates and encode them all as mp4s (instead of the variety that they have come in!). So I now have some pretty impressive collections which I'm willing to share/trade for other videos which I don't have.

These have takedown notices get posted all the time for them… the studio is good at finding their videos and having them removed!

These videos get posted occasionally - but are taken down pretty quickly. So you have to be watching all the time to grab them… and it doesn't help the ratio, that's for sure! Haha

If someone has some videos they would like to trade, I would be willing to sort my ones out and share...

Does anyone know any reason why a particular VPN won't be able to connect to our tracker on our side? Anything that we would prevent?

I can't figure out why the VPN I use stops all connections to and from my torrents as soon as I turn it on.

Hi guys,

Trying to figure this one out, but could use a bit of help, please…

I've been around awhile, but have only just started sorting out a VPN ( ).

I've got IPVanish as my VPN. Have set it up to be positioned from another server... managed to get UPnP working I think... and I'm using Transmission (2.94).

I can't for the life of me figure out:
1. setting up a proxy server inside Transmission...
2. why (and this might be related to 1!) I'm being told that I have a bad ratio... I should be able to download 15 torrents at a time, but it won't let me? ATM I have 4 downloading... possibly...

Any advice from more experienced people here would be really welcome!
