Try this on... the police officer, being a trained and (hopefully) capable individual, should have other options than to shoot someone, even if they are carrying a knife. Knife crime happens in London all the time... do you hear of anyone being shot by the police to stop the knife wielder? Not often, that's for sure! A police officer here actually went towards a knife attacker in the past - unarmed!
