Thanks for taking the time to explain this in detail. While I had a vague idea of how this all worked, your explanation was very helpful.

I admit that I'm still confused, however, as with over 1000 active torrents, I find it hard to believe that none of them can be seeded. And as I mentioned, this seems to be a recent development -- in the past, there was always substantial uploading activity going on. My ratio was over 1.25 at one point, I think. Now it's barely 1.0. And since I've never uploaded my own torrents (I'd like to learn how to do so one day!), this was all based on seeding.

There are several dozen more. All shown as "seeding," but with no upload speed. The first one has 2 leechers.

I have to first admit that I'm no expert, so if you can help, please make your answer understandable.

I've seen several other posts about this, but none of the solutions that I was able to try resolved the issue. I have over 1000 torrents in uTorrent, but lately NONE of them is seeding. Nor do they show any peers. Downloading is fine. Of course this has caused my ratio to plummet.

Here's an example of a file I just downloaded. It shows:

• Seeds: 0 of 41 connected (233 in swarm)
• Peers: 0 of 64 connected (3 in swarm)

While the numbers are different, every other torrent also has '0' for seeds/peers connected.

So what is the issue? I am using Windows 11 and Proton VPN, but that hasn't changed. I haven't changed any settings in uTorrent. I have restarted uTorrent numerous times, but that didn't help. What is happening and how do I fix it?

@john32123666 Thanks for your reply. I am only currently downloading TWO torrents. At least that's what shows in the torrent summary. (Downloading-2, Seeding-897, Completed-1147, Active-0, Inactive-1149.) Both of the downloading torrents are stuck on "Finding Peers" and have that same error message. And many of the seeding torrents that are stuck on "Queued Seed" have the message "Scrape not supported." (At one time ALL of them were like this.) So I'm not clear what you're suggesting I do with respect to terminating other downloads.

I posted this issue in the Ratio forum yesterday and Kalayaan replied and asked me if I had a VPN. I do, and the problem seemed to have resolved itself, but now it's back. With or without the VPN, almost everything sticks on "Finding Peers." (And the seeding torrents are "Queued seed.") It has done this in the past, but a restart of BitTorrent usually fixes it. Now I'm getting "Bad Ratio: Ratio:1.316 (Too many torrents. Your current limit is 15 at the same time. To fix you could (donate.)" This was the same issue I had yesterday. Is there a permanent solution to this problem? (As mentioned above, disconnecting from the VPN didn't help.)

I have three downloaded torrents that are stuck on "Finding Peers." When I look at the status of the tracker, I see "Bad Ratio: 1.318 (Too many torrents-your current limit is 15 at the same time. To fix limits you could (donate)."

I only have THREE torrents downloading (the ones that are stuck.) Everything else is seeding or inactive. Where is this "15" coming from and how do I resolve this. Clearly my ratio is not the problem.

@kalayaan I'm not sure what happened to me, but as of yesterday NOTHING is working now in BitTorrent. The torrents from this site are all frozen on "Finding Peers" (which has always been the case when they first load, but can be fixed by restarting the program) and those from another torrent site are stuck on "Connecting to Peers."

I tried the "add tracker" fix suggested above and changed one of the trackers to the old version, but it didn't help. Maybe something changed in my BitTorrent setup that has nothing to do with this?

It's now been a full week since I donated. Still no credit. I've sent messages, emails, and posted here. No response of any kind. What is going on?
