Is anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am?

i'm playing beta weekend
-
Me too.

Did anyone play this recent beta weekend? Thoughts as to any improvements? The package was clunky back in January/Dec for me I got nervous but I love the lore of this world…
-
It's not as good as the single player games, but then again MMOs really can't be due to too many variables on the server.
I'm enjoying it.

I played the BETA test not so long ago, the one in January. Wasn't impressed at all. Seemed too much like a single player game, the combat was terrible and they apparently making you have to buy the collectors edition to play as Imperial… The game just didn't really grip me, I was so excited for it too until I played BETA. I won't be buying it though. It'll inevitably go f2p within a year and then I may give it a try after they've ironed out all the creases.

Yeah, I'm not happy about having to buy the Imperial Edition just to play an Imperial. However, I do feel that it'll be a "race" that's available to everyone at a later date.
I've been in the last 3 betas and I don't agree that it's "too much like a single player game". To me, it's like most other MMOs that are out there, but with a few extras, ie racial skills. If you like MMOs then you should give this one a try.

Everyone I know who has played the Beta has said it's really not great at all at the moment, full of bugs etc.
-
Most of the bugs were due to not having enough server power for the amount of people. This caused serious amounts of lag and other issues.
A lot of people had problems killing "foulwing" the harpy queen. If everyone moved off the section of the mountain she was on (clearly and obviously defined space) then she would respawn. But what kept happening is that 100 people would all crowd in the spot waiting for her to respawn, which wasn't gonna happen. This was the case with most, if not all, open space boss mobs. If you were patient, you'd get to finish most of these quests.
Some of the other issues are things like materials occasionally spawning in places that you can't get to; ie nirnroots spawning on the face of waterfalls. This was fairly rare though.
Some searchable items would show up as containing items (it glowed) when in fact someone had already gotten the loot. Again, this was due to lag and was not a "bug" per se.
Another issue was that the beta was purposely limited to a level cap of 17. That meant that any quest that gets started earlier but requires level 18+ to continue just stopped. We were also limited to the first couple of areas for our races. So again, any quests that required you to go outside of those areas couldn't be finished.
My only complaint is the lack of bandwidth and server capacity for sustained gameplay. Hopefully this is fixed by launch.

I love this…. I played this game ever since....

If anyone is interested, I'm on the pc/mac EU server.
Currently I have 2 characters, but will have a 3rd so I have one in each side of the war.
My names are;
Keynes Alley
Kai Alley
I'm looking to start my crafters' guild Ankle Biters again pretty soon. The name comes from previous MMOs where I played a crafting dwarf and started my own guild.

Is it really worth the monthly subscription fees?

I'm enjoying it, but each person has their own tastes.
Most of the bugs seem to have been fixed. The issue I mentioned earlier about server power seems to be solved for the most part.
There have been 4 or 5 mini patches so far and the much larger patch for going "live". So it shows they are taking issues seriously.

I played through most of BETA and did not enjoy it at all. I could not get roped into wanting to spend time playing it. I'm sure it has to do with me feeling like every minute I spent playing ESO, I was wasting time not playing WoW.
