"International Olympic Committee announces new Policy on the Protection of the Female (Women’s) Category in Olympic Sport"
Eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports, is now limited to biological females, determined on the basis of a one‑time SRY gene screening.
Evidence‑based and expert‑informed, the policy – applicable for the LA28 Olympic Games onwards – protects fairness, safety and integrity in the female category.
It is not retroactive and does not apply to any grassroots or recreational sports programmes

To venture my view: It protects LGBT like anyone.
Lesbian athletes & Trans-identified female athletes (sometimes called transgender men), can rest easy knowing male athlete won't give them life-threatening injuries like poor Payton McNabb got (https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/cmte_testimony/2025/wam/1E52PALNHjL37zcTICExf7g4TqIaF3cuW.pdf).
Trans-identified male athletes (sometimes called transgender women) can rest easy knowing that in 2026, policy requires males to welcome them, plus, they will not suffer sexual harassment lawsuits from female & when they win events, it will be real win (not mere bullying of weaker females).

Words of approval from 13 past winners of both sexes. Plus Martina Navratilova is presented but her words omitted by mistake?

100% in support of this - there should NEVER have been any confusion:
Trans women (MTF) benefit from male genetics - even if they undergo gender "affirming" surgery (that is: even if their balls are cut-off!) - that is PATENTLY unfair to biological women. That it was allowed for 1 week, much less several years, is just unfair and, in my mind, unreasonable.
Mind you, I have no objection to trans women in the ladies bathroom - I'm under no illusion that women are going into the bathroom to show off their vaginas (or penises) to each other... its just a bathroom, and the idea of a 2nd one for women is a "first world problem". 99% of women's restrooms in the 1st world have individual stalls that give each person a significant level of privacy. (99% of women's restrooms OUTSIDE the 1st world are just holes in the ground and are already shared with men
).That said, I draw the line when it comes to locker-rooms - where people are undressing & bathing. If you've HAD the surgery, and can pass for a female (albeit with surgical scarring) - when totally naked, then we can talk... but if you've still got a penis, you do not (perhaps yet) have the right to be in a women's locker-room. If you're trans and are uncomfortable in the "other" lockerroom, please ask for separate accommodations (usually, 1 or more coach's offices are in the same locations).
COMMON SENSE if you ask me!
