UPenn makes deal to obey USA law, save Female sports from XY males.

      https://dailycaller.com/2025/07/01/upenn-lia-thomas-titles-title-ix-linda-mcmahon/

The school and the administration reached an agreement on Tuesday which forced the institution to strip transgender swimmer Lia Thomas of previous records and titles while competing in women’s sports...

UPenn...must send a personalized letter of apology to each impacted female swimmer...issue a public statement to the University community stating that it will comply with Title IX, specifying that UPenn “will not allow males to compete in female athletic programs or occupy Penn Athletics female intimate facilities,”.....

The statement also must specify that UPenn will adopt biology-based definitions for the words “male” and “female” which is “pursuant to Title IX...rescind any of its guidance that violated Title IX, remove or revise any internal and public-facing statements or documents that are inconsistent with Title IX, and notify all staff and women’s athletics of all such recissions,”

I'm curious as to why there is never, ever any gender equality in these bans.

@raphjd Do you mean, females should be banned from male sport? for safety & also symmetry?

          Prob yes.

But people treat it as low-priority since, on average, females suck at sport. (Average means, top females are better than worst males.)

Sports end up with category of

          • non-enhanced Female

          • Open

Where Male comes in, Female is driven out - like, why bother to compete?

As Gay dude, I'm fine if "Open" means Male in practice, that is, Female driven out of Male - by practical realities.

I'm not fine with Male who invade & break Female category - when females want one.

I do wish for explicit Male category tho, for equality plus better "guy time" & male nudity.

Where Male is banned from Female space, Female should be banned from Male space.

& where ban enables nudity, go by someone's biology - not identity. Sorry Trans. There are limits. This should be one of them. Genderqueering kids (talking kids into dysphoria), should be another. Big "No" on both. & I know many of you agree - Thank you.

            I'm talking generally.

In the US, there's a 1993 (I think) ruling that says that female sports reporters were allowed in male locker rooms under Title IX, but the ruling said that it did not apply the other way. The excuse was that Title IX was there to benefit women and was not about equality.

In 1990, a female sports reporter sued the New England Patriots for sexual harassment because the guys were getting naked (changing, showering, etc) in their own locker room. I don't remember the outcome, but the stupidity of the lawsuit is enormous.

In the 1960s, feminists started the push for female sports reporters to be in male locker rooms. Their mantra was "if you don't like it, put a towel on".

By 1980, most North American male sports were invaded by women in the locker rooms. MLB had the first woman in the locker room (Houston Oilers) in Oct 1973.

                UPenn teammates speak out:

                https://www.foxnews.com/sports/former-upenn-swimmer-reflects-teammates-lia-thomas-trump-admin-victory

UPenn pushed females to change & shower next to naked male.

& told these females they'd better not speak out, if they know what's good for them.
