Fucking Machine?

I have a friend who seems to have not only started using dildos on his ass, now he wants a fucking machine!
My impression is that these machines are for those who are very advanced in using sex toys on themselves, and potentially dangerous. Anybody have experience with them? He can't afford one, but I can. My concern is that I don't want to send him something that will cause injury or fails to be pleasurable.
