report: Francis says, Church has too much "faggotry" in seminaries / among priests
-
My only view here is: anti-Gay Catholics, AND, anti-Catholic Gays, should both lighten up.
Now you know. Rest of this post is reportage.
From “who am I to judge” to a now much more trenchant position, if only with regards to the selection and training of priests....
A different report gives Francis' exact words as:
“Nella Chiesa c’è troppa aria di frociaggine e quindi i Vescovi devono mettere fuori dai seminari tutte le checche, anche quelle solo semi orientate.”
[google translate] “There is too much air of fagotism [ed: "faggotry"] in the Church and therefore the Bishops must put all the fagots out of the seminaries, even the only semi-oriented ones.”
Francis opponents accuse him of cynical pretense: they think he wishes now to run cover for..... himself, his Gay friends & relaxed policies.

@raphjd Indeed. Reports say he used "checche" - and "frociaggine" whose root is "frocio".
Derogatory words bounce off me - but some tell me they're big deal.
& both of those, are worse than "finook" or "finocchio" which you hear on USA TV sometimes

@blablarg18 the best way to learn Italian derogatory terms is to watch "The Sopranos".

Oops, he did it again.
Yesterday,
[Francis] is accused of saying “There is an air of frociaggine in the Vatican” — a disparaging Italian term roughly translating as “f—–ness” during a closed-door meeting with roughly 200 priests at Rome’s Salesian Pontifical University on Tuesday, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported.
The 87-year-old Argentine also allegedly suggested that it was better that young men with homosexual tendencies not be allowed to enter the seminary, the reports say.
Again: conservative opponents of Francis say, not only does Pot call Kettle black; Pot tries to wear a beard now.
