VPN trick I just found today...
-
Where I live, most restaurants use censoring software (gee, I thought censorship was illegal?) to block access to fine, HOLEsome sites such as GTRU.
I usually have a half hour battle to get the internet to work with my VPN which is NordVpn.
Today, it seems the FortiGate/Fortinet censorship came up with a new way to block people from even USING a VPN. Today, for the first time, I could not even log into my NordVpn app to turn it on. NordVpn has ways to tunnel through the censorship of Fortigate, but you can't use NordVpn if they block that website and app!
I found a way around it. I use my cell phone as a hot spot (which has a few gigs of hotspot use per month) and log into the NordVpn app. Once in, I then change over to the restaurant's censorship protected internet.. and it WORKS! In fact, it was a lot easier to get the VPN connection working with this method, than the previous method of hammering away for half an hour.
