Posting photos of oneself

Some things make very little sense to me.
For instance, I have a friend who posts g-rated photos of himself quite a bit.. which is slightly strange. Could be that he is showing his friends where he's been and what he has been doing.

BUT... why would he post photos of himself with his trans lover? Who is the audience for these photos? Also, his lover is not the gender "she" appears to be, so posting photos of themselves together is a big risk for someone commenting "HEY! that girl you are dating is a dude!" and then, the guy's friends and family see that comment and the proverbial shit hits the fan.
