USSA watch: J6 prosecutor goes on stabbing spree
-
Patrick Douglas Scruggs, 38, of Tampa, worked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office from September 2012 until April of this year, according to his LinkedIn page. His time there included appearing on behalf of the federal government during hearings for Florida residents accused of taking part in the riots at the U.S. Capitol by supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021.
In May, he joined Barnes and Thornburg, an Atlanta-based private law firm...
...a bizarre chain of events [] unfolded on the Howard Frankland [bridge]...
- Morning rush hour
- Motorist A has pulled aside - is slumped, like something medical
- Motorist B, a couple, pull over to help (says story)
- Motorist A unresponsive
- Motorist B walk away. (story says, to get a tool for break into Motorist A - but nothing happened yet)
- Motorist A wakes suddenly, flees scene, strikes Scruggs car as Scruggs drove by
- Motorist A & Scruggs now pull over
- Scruggs "got out and walked up to [Motorist A]. According to the Highway Patrol, Scruggs broke a window and started stabbing [Motorist A] with a pocketknife."
- Motorist B return "to help the man being stabbed, but Scruggs then tried to stab" the couple
Sounds like drugs all round?? But, The Lectern Guy comments:
Meet the guy who prosecuted me in Tampa for walking in a building on January 6th.
My crimes were so egregious that he demanded I wear an ankle monitor, be drugged tested at random, surrender my passports, be restricted to middle district of Florida, and given a nightly curfew.
What restrictions do you think he should get for stabbing a man repeatedly in public?

PS. Scruggs is white AF - if that matters - & was out of jail quickly on a bond.

Scruggs charged with Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault and Burglary of an Occupied Convenience.
CNN at least notices that "a former federal prosecutor involved in an early prosecution of a January 6 defendant" went on a stabbing spree:

Perhaps Scruggs' race is relevant?
Perhaps his White status (whites bad) overrides his J6 status (lib & J6 prosecutors good)?
