Is it acceptable to use the word "boy" in torrent titles and descriptions? I find it a bit questionable and it feels wrong somehow. I don't like boys, I like men.

So why does everyone seem to accept this?

        (can't edit my post?)

@yepyep7891 any word from any language is susceptible to semantic change. The meaning of words is not something fixed and unchangeable, the speakers are the ones in charge of this semantic evolution. The reason why specific words suffer specific changes are not always traceable, so it's somewhat debatable most of the times, but once that change happens, it cannot be artificially reversed. You cannot prevent people from using specific words, let alone allow words only with a specific significance.

The perception people have on the meaning of words is cultural, it can vary geographically, among different social classes, age, religion, and so on. You can perceive "boy" strictly as a male child, that doesn't mean that's the only nor the truest meaning of that word. Not only in english but in most languages "boy" or "menino" from portuguese, or "chico" from spanish, they refer to any young male. While "child" has a strict age span, "young" does not.

I shouldn't even have to be saying any of it, you just need to get out of your room and listen to people as they use the word boy to people much older than 18 years. You might don't like it, but there's nothing intrinsically wrong with it. And the most important, you can rest assured that 100% of the times you see the word boy in here, it will NOT be a child.

I loathe when it's used in the title of the torrent.

It's not that I am afraid of seeing child porn on here. I just cannot escape the impression that there are people who use the word to arouse certain feelings (he must be and appear as young as possible). I have the same thing with porn actors who are 18 years old or older, but look like a 15-year-old kid. Then you stay within the limits of the law, but it is not more than that.

@yepyep7891 Honestly, I don't really know any people who use the word boy for adults, other than in a familiar manner.

                  Google Search says:
Physically, it can be observed that man is masculine and fully developed compared to a boy who is still young and growing.

(This is not to ridicule you nor be sarcastic about the topic).

In my love of porn, this is how I view boy vs man.

                  BOY / BOYS

They are all descriptive of physical / age appearance.

Of course, as @ianfontinell mentioned, also differs with culture and geographical location.

Like in Asia where men looks younger compared to Western men in the same age bracket or how colder regions effect how people look against people found on tropical regions. Physical appearances can also be affected by a person's social standing in life.

As for torrent titles containing the word "boy", most uploaders use it as a general description for videos of "boys" that may not have a proper name or a video or collection of videos they have compiled from different sources. Descriptive of what the uploader's perception of what a boy or a man to him is.

You definitely would not address the person in this photo
as "This man" because that would certainly be an adjectival error. "This young man" would certainly be more acceptable or correct.

This, to my view and opinion of this matter.

If you do not want to use "This boy" to address the boy in the photo because to me, he is a "boy" and certainly not a child.

Really sorry if that brings you so much discomfort but if there's nothing legally wrong taking place you can't infere any intent or impute imorality to their behavior.

Let's say you want to watch underage boys being molested by older men, do you really want me to believe you'd get your pleasure indulged from a video from familydick or missionaryboys? Even though I highly doubt that, there's nothing immoral taking place, you're literally watching two adults pretending and anything you get from it exists only in your mind.

And to be really honest with you, if calling grown ass men "boys" and watching familydick videos have the SLIGHEST ability to keep people from seeking actual child porn or molesting kids, it's preferable.

One last thought, it is terrifying to me this sense of entitlement that so many people have and feel so free to declare on the internet. The fact that you can have an idea or ideal and perceive it as something that's so obvious and straightforward that it simply HAS to be it. That's just not how it works bro. It's like you're convicting people before any crime take place just out of your beliefs.

"Boys' night out" is a common phrase that has nothing to do with male children.

"It's your boy, (insert name here)" is a common opening on social media videos by adult males.

                            That's my boy.

Words I use to refer to my son and he's 33 but looks 23.

                              I'm 55 and my husband is 58.

Every week or 2 we go to a local traditional British cafe and the ladies there refer to us as boys; "how are you boys doing today", "the usual for you boys", etc.

@raphjd Right! There you go. Great example of how the word boy or boys can be used expressively undescriptive of ones age.

I think the author of this topic is not referring to the use of "boy" in general but in gay porn like the title Bring me a Boy.

@yepyep7891, if you are not comfortable, then just skipped torrent titles with boy in it.

I talked a lot but at the end of the day the guy just asked a simple question and nobody answered it, the answer is just yes it is acceptable.

Indeed. These are all examples that have nothing to do with the word usage I am referring to, for example a father calling his children, no matter how old they are, "his boys" or the question "how are you boys doing?". We are talking about porn here and the description of male actors to make clear how young they are. It is this context that I am referring to. It has everything to do with age.
