US Supreme Court shuts down religious university's bid to block LGBTQ+ group

@raphjd As fate would have it, Yeshiva U's NYC HQ is two blocks from me, the girls dress modestly while giggling quietly in groups -- and some of those guys are damn cute.
Back to the topic, seems that Kavanaugh and Roberts were a little miffed at the procedural maneuvers by which Yeshiva hoisted the case quickly onto the SC docket, rather than further adjudication at the state level.
I wouldn't see as Neil and John suddenly becoming LGBT allies. Still, interesting!

I wonder how this ruling will affect the Religious Freedom Restoration Act; authored by Chuckles Schumer and passed by the extreme vast majority of both parties, in both Houses, and signed into law by Clinton.
If a business can legally refuse to offer services to LGBTs, based on their religious beliefs, then I don't understand this ruling.
Lot of businesses (bakers, printers, caterers, wedding planners, etc, etc, etc) have won in federal courts, despite state and local laws that counter RFRA.

Feels like we are in for decades of "cake wars" with a Supreme Court that is much more amenable to bible thumpers.

The University has shut down ALL club activities on campus.
