Broken RSS Feed
-
A member mentioned today that he can't get GayTorrent's RSS Feed to properly work inside the torrent client. I explained how to set it up corretly to make it compatible with modern apps like qbittorrent. Only problem is, the generated XML file is not valid.
In the RSS generator page, setting the feed type to download and the login type to alternative will generate a XML file that cannot be parsed.
Currently the links inside the XML are valid but they make the XML file invalid. That's because all gaytorrent download links contains the character "&" for identifying and validating portions of the URL. But in XML files "&" marks the start of a reference, meaning it has to end with a semicolon. It is required to update the RSS code to add "amp;" right after every "&" character inside the generated XML. This way the XML will be able to be parsed and show valid links, and it will finally be possible to have GayTorrent RSS Feed directly inside qBitTorrent without erros.
