Hi, I'm still learning and was wondering if its okay to upload a single video that is already posted in a large folder. For example, it would allow users to download one individual 400MB video. Instead of a folder containing 30 videos at 37GB to get that one 400MB video. Let me know, ty!

You can upload any option you want either single file or part of a collection ... However beware of duplicates ...

DUPLICATE files are not allowed and will be removed. You are expected to run a search for duplicates prior to submitting a torrent. Duplicates may be accepted when part of a themed collection. A file is considered a duplicate if an existing torrent has the same format and similar size (<10% difference) and has at least one seeder.

I don't know the answer to your question, but you are not required to download the entire contents of a torrent. If there are multiple files, you can download and seed as few as one of them.

            Just to clarify:

            • You can download any part of a torrent - there is no obligation to download it all (hence, some REALLY BIG collections that presumably hundreds of people have downloaded parts, but virtually no one has downloaded the whole thing. The problem there is, the torrent dies when the uploader stops seeding 😞
            • If you leave the torrent open in your client, having "completed" the torrent because you downloaded all the parts you WANTED, you are still a LEECHER to the tracker (and it counts as an active download - perpetually!) To end that, you have to remove the torrent from your client - which stops seeding the parts you DO have
            • Once you have downloaded even a single "piece" of a torrent, you become a "partial seeder" - sharing, if asked, the part(s) you have downloaded - even though you may not have ALL parts yet
            • To the system, a "SEEDER" is someone who has the entire torrent - whose sole purpose in remaining in the swarm is to seed the torrent.

Keep in mind that only a true seeder (with all of the contents) earns SBP for seeding a torrent!
