Weight Loss Drugs
-
Let me start this off by stating I used to be a huge person >340 lbs. As the result of a diet drug I took several years ago I lost over 100 lbs in approximately one year by using prescription diet pills, mostly phendimetrazine. I got down to a low of 220, and just gave up trying to lose any more weight, because the loss came less easier.
And now here I am almost 3 years to the day weighing 240 lbs, starting the diet pills again. I hope they have as much effectiveness as they did the previous run.
Anyone else have experience with anorectic drugs? What are your insights, and would you consider this cheating during a weight loss drug during a diet/exercise regimen? Would you consider it too unsafe using these powerful stimulants?

You do not say whether this is also Doctor supervised program or not. This would be a real concern for me with those pills. Are they prescribed, are they addictive etc.
After that then just be sure exercise is a major part of your program because one day you have to stop those pills. You want to be physically ready for potential weight gain from stopping the meds.

This a doctor supervised program, the drugs used are stimulants and are controlled substance. So they can be moderately addictive when misused. I've used them multiple years in the past, before my hiatus I tended to generally dislike taking them due to side effects. But I admit the wakefulness promoting use came in handy during my college years.
I gained very little weight while off of them, 25 lbs, in three years.
It basically makes a reduced caloric diet more satiating, or sometimes makes the idea of food repulsive.
But for fat person like myself, where the drug causes few side effects and they're normal, increases weight loss with decreased effort, and no apparent personal abuse potential. What could the harm be? If you were 248 lbs and fat like me would you not do it if you were in my situation?

I am a fat person that has lost 35 pounds recently and continue to struggle with losing more weight. I would take them in a heartbeat given the chance and aware of the consequences as you seem to be.

You might want to ask your doctor about Byetta. It's really gone under the radar as far as a weight loss drug, but its effects are substantially better than anorectics.

I might ask my doctor about using this alone or synergistically with the anoretics, which have worked well for me in the past.

The only one that worked realy good was Ephedrine but its forbidden in most countrys now and hard to get. You can drink the Chinese Ma Hoang tee if you want.

This stuff is a little more akin to a prescription amphetamine than to over-the-counter ephedrine. And you still can buy ephedrine over-the-counter as an asthma remedy. It's known as Bronkaid or Primatine tablets. I'd recommend the Bronkaid with it's higher ephedrine amount.
But yes, ephedrine is effective, but only mildly so compared to the prescription stimulants.
