Seeds don't upload
-
I've downloaded several popular freeleech torrents to try and fix my ratio, but once they finish downloading, nobody uploads. I have checked my torrent settings multiple times -- there should be no blocks on uploading. Are there any other settings I can check? This is frustrating, because I can't fix my ratio if no one uses my seeds...

There is nothing you can do if there are no peers grabbing your connection...[Means there are no active leecher while seeding] or relies on bandwidth connectivity...
Best thing to do is upload new files or find more freeleech with bunch of leechers, few seeder and have enough amount of time... -
The big thing to check is to make sure the port your torrent client is listening on is accessible. If it's not, no one can reach you. It's a fairly common problem: you can open connections to others to download, but if the port isn't open to the Internet, no one can connect to you. (It's also really hard to help with because everyone's setup can vary so much based on what torrent client you're using, whether your computer has some built-in firewall getting in the way, and whether you have a router that can set up port-forwarding.)
It's also possible that nothing is wrong with your client. Freeleech torrents can sometimes be somewhat of a race. If you get in early, you upload tons. But if you're among the last to grab a freeleech torrent, there aren't others that will come along to download it, plus there's maybe 50 other seeders by that point, so those that do come after you will be downloading from all of them. Watching for new freeleech content can help a lot.
You also earn points if you leave stuff seeding even if no one downloads it, and over time those can be redeemed for upload credit.
Full disclosure -- some of us addicts to this have seedboxes: servers running 24/7 on a fast connection. I do it because it's a lot more convenient for me and my home connection has a terrible upload speed, and I like to think it makes things better for others overall because I can seed stuff for others 24/7 on an extremely fast connection. But ratio is somewhat competitive in a sense, and we can kind of tilt the playing field a little without meaning to.

@honesteagle You have excellent advice already!
One site that is helpful to ensure your ports are accessible is https://portforward.com

@blittle I'm using qBittorrent, since uTorrent won't work on my newer Mac, and I have a Comcast Xfinity gateway, which does accept port forwards, but I hadn't enabled it for the port qBittorrent was using -- I did that now, and there's no immediate change (qBittorrent is still saying No direct connections) but we'll see what happens after I reboot.
I'm also using a VPN -- could that have anything to do with it?

@ricky Thank you!
Hopefully I can get it fixed soon -- I hate having no download rights! Ugh!

@honesteagle Is there a green check at the far right bottom of utorrent?
Its not a port problem if the client is reachable.
I've also started to have problems connecting to the tracker while using uT. No other tracker is presenting a problem. It's just GT.ru.
