Wasn't he reading someone else's quote? Either way, if that happened today it'd be grounds for cancellation. The mob made a TV host in Canada resign not long ago because she quoted a sentence with the n-word during a commentary.

Yes, he was. He was condemning the person he was quoting. By quoting them, he was entering their words in the Congressional record.

He voted against bussing students to schools far from their homes in the 1970s. It was a very controversial topic at the time and voting against it did not mean that person was racist or was actually in favor of segregation, just that they did not think it was appropriate to bus young children long distances as a means to remedy segregation and further integration.
The closest equivalent today to the bussing issue might be direct payments to descendants of slaves in reparation for slavery. Voting against direct reparation would not mean that someone was in favor of slavery, just that they did not think that would be the best way to remedy the lasting effects of slavery and that the money might be better spent another way.
Be wary of attacks like this from right wing authoritarians that take things out of context, alter videos, and otherwise manipulate reality for propaganda purposes in order to gain or maintain power. The fact that they are having to dig up things from 40+ years ago and take them out of context and lie about them should be a clue that they don't have anything better to attack Biden with.
Also contrast it with Trump's long and well-documented history of illegal housing discrimination, racism, etc.

Biden authored the 1994 bill which Clinton sgned into law that created the mass incarceration problem Trump mostly reversed. It also created for-profit prisons and an other things that screwed up the country.
It's strange how liberals "forget" this.

I'm Independent. You both make good arguments. Apparently it was more than twice, it was like 13 times that he said it. He could have censored himself. He knew it was wrong, even then. Cuz as you mention, Trump's stuff from the 70s, which he said was his father, so he surely knew in the 80s that it was wrong. Nobody else was doing it… It's not a right wing attack on Biden, it's just a video of him speaking. How are you going to blame the right, for it simply being a video of Biden speaking? It's on Biden... not the "right." I think he should have known better. I'm not giving him a pass. It was brazen and arrogant. He always brags about how smart he is, challenging people to debates and IQ tests and push up contests. But he's totally corrupt with the Ukraine thing. Just like Hillary was corrupt with the Haiti thing. And the other thing. And the other thing.
I'm Independent, because I realize that whoever sits in the Oval Office, is privy to all the insider trading information, because they know who's getting contracts. Now it looks like whether CNN or FOX, they're all for big pharma and vaccines. This is the problem with the stock market. People prop up death because it looks like money.
