What is upload credit used for when cashed in via my seed bonus?
-
I'm confused as to what upload credit is?
Do I require credit to upload new torrent files, and is that what this is used for?
It says that I give the points they give the traffic. What is traffic?
Does that mean uploading new torrents?
Can this "traffic", mean downloading other people's torrent files? Thanks.

"Traffic" in this instance refers to the amount of data you upload, i.e. share with others. It is important to maintain a good ratio of uploading to downloading. That just means sharing as much or more than you take, to maintain your download privileges.
If you seed the torrents you download continuously (whether or not anyone downloads them), rate torrents you downloaded, add photos to torrent pages that need them, etc., you will earn bonus points. You can use those points to buy upload traffic to improve your ratio, use it for gifts to thank those who upload torrents, or spend the points to make a torrent freeleech.

You do not need credit or even a good ratio to upload new torrent files. Just be sure to follow the rules for uploading.
The easiest way to build a good foundation for your ratio is to mostly download freeleech torrents at first. The videos that are freeleech do not count as download traffic but upload traffic will still count. To find them when you search, check the "Freeleech only" box, or you will see the yellow "Freeleech" banner when you browse the torrents.
It seems complicated at first, but as long as you seed all the time and don't download too many non-freeleech videos right away, eventually the only problem will be spending your points, not your ratio.

When you get enough points from user thank-yous, or from keeping your torrents seeded over time, you can exchange those points for an increase in your upload data volume (shown at the top center of the webpage). Clicking on the "Bonus" value in the upper right of your webpage will take you the exchanging web page. You'll see that the more points you exchange, the more data volume you get…and the "volume per points" price gets better with higher numbers of points.
For example, right now you have about 300 points. If you wait until that reaches 350, you can turn that in for 5 GB upload added to your totals. That would bring your ratio up to 1.5.
You'll continue to earn seed bonus points if you keep active the torrents you've uploaded--even if nobody is downloading them. You'll get a half a point per hour if you do this. With your current total of 300 points, you'll reach 350 points in about four days.
Happy seeding (and you can take that any way you want ;D )
