Survivor: David vs. Goliath
-
Anyone still watching Survivor here? New season seems interesting, and two guys are quite good-looking - Dan and Alec.

To be fair, I only turned on the new Survivor mid-episode, during the "challenge in the rainstorm." Except for the plus-sized guy (who was later airlifted out for that unfortunate boating back injury), I had trouble distinguishing what made one side Davids and another side Goliaths.
Yes, there was a middle-aged lady who doesn't exercise (guess that qualifies her as a David); otherwise, they just looked like two teams (again, maybe difficult with all the wet clothes and such).
So, another Team Immunity challenge, another race digging under a log, climbing some ladders, and of course, a puzzle at the end as a nod to "brainpower." Even recording the show and speeding through the ads, for me it's more of the same as the past 327 seasons.

[ With that done, I binged half of the limited series [i]Maniac on Netflix, and actually felt my synapses fire. Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are great in this trippy sci-fi treat.

I've heard about this. Thanks for the tip! Will watch this next.

I hope you enjoy Maniac, colonelguise – after four episodes, the title remains a bit of an enigma, as it's by no means a slasher series (so far). Rather, much more cerebral and scary in that "science-out-of-control" way.
And I don't mean to poop on the joys of Survivor, lol. I have enjoyed those shirtless guys over the years. But I feel that this David vs. Goliath premise is not the most original. Wasn't there a Brains vs. Brawn theme not long ago?
In my fantasy viewing world, next season of Survivor should be Retired Porn Stars vs. Tele-Evangelists. Once tribes are merged, see what kind of alliances and surprises that would bring! (Immunity idols are based on crucifixes and dildos, of course.)

OH, I forgot to mention, on this David vs. Goliath they have Mike White, a mucho quirky actor/director, and if you have yet to see his Chuck & Buck (2000), it's a true indie gem.
Mike's bio: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0925234/?ref_=tt_ov_wr
The film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200530/?ref_=tt_urv
(And now I understand the D vs. G premise: essentially, the Haves vs. the Have-Nots, the Entitled vs. the Working Joe. Hmm…. )

sorry – hit wrong button and now have a box of words to fill...:
well, here's some trivia: Probst says there will never be a Democrat vs. Republican tribes Survivor:
