      In case some of you don't read the movie requests topic, do you have an explanation concerning the question about the inserted GT logo "gaytorrent.ru" as shown in pics from the following post :

        I'm curious about that myself. I found a movie on another site (not a torrent site- I had to download through Hotfile), and when I watched it, there was a QUITE prominent logo for a different movie site, which the movie had apparently come from. I looked at it, and it was actually a pay site, so I decided not to upload the movie here because I didn't want people to think I was advertising the other site (which I didn't even use)… or, is it not really a problem?

          and about your question about visible advertising in uploaded videos: it has not been an issue for a discussion in our staff up to now - and I'm note really sure to open that can of worms myself - regarding the fact that we did something like that some years ago ourself (but not right now any longer). So (from the past) we can't forbid something we did ourselves - unless you want us to ban all of our staff because breaking such a rule 🙂

          Although: my personal opinion: I hate advertising in general (even in TV), even more so for pay-sites (but that is just my personal opinion).

            …As to movies: we (rather: admins those days when GT.ru started) did embed the logo into videos, but only into videos which were uploaded by themselves, never in user uploads […] in fact that was the way of "advertising" that I learned about GT.ru myself about 4 years ago. As you can see this is still my favorite site on the net 🙂

            The earliest Forum topic I found is a great Tom's topic, named "If you have any Questions…" (read 855 times) and dated May 30, 2006 (Tom's 1st message in it), a must read !

            So can we say GT started in May 2006 or did it start years before ?
            Because as far as I remember, it seems to me I discovered those "embedded GT logo" movies years ago.

            Btw, Admins were very tasty in their movies choice when they embedded the logo : I remember how much I like(d) the kind of movies they embedded, thinking each time I saw a new one : "What? Gaytorrent.ru AGAIN ! Those guys are GREAT !!!"  😄

            Though it's very hard, today, to imagine GT without you in it...

            Now we want Tom back and read his posts again !
            Christmas is coming soon...let's hope he'll be back on december 25th...or before  🙂

              LOL you got the first support thread of our (old) forum software. But the site started only some months earlier, early in 2006. We don't have an exact date though any longer - so we set the 1st April as GayTorrent.ru's birthday (nope, no april joke 🙂 ). At least that is the date where we tried to have a birthday party in the last years 🙂

              Thanks. I found that logo in the German version of QaF and was really surprised how many episodes I found on the net (those years ago) with that embedded logo. 🙂 It also shows, that this kind of advertising was a good idea - it brought the idea to learn about torrents and get the videos directly from the site (and I'm still proud that I can now say: "our site").

              currently we can't give any reliable date for Tom's recovery 😞

              and there are a lot of members (mostly staff though) waiting for Tom too - we all miss him badly 😞
