This is a tough abortion issue…
-
In Ohio, Trump hating Governor Kasich just signed a bill banning abortions on fetuses diagnosed with Down's Syndrome. I assume that means 3rd term abortions because I'm pretty sure that abortions up to 6 months are legal everywhere in the USA.
I have a problem with this one. I consider my dad's 2nd wife (who has since died - thank you god!) to be a monster because she desperately wanted to have a baby girl.. and spent every penny of my dad's money trying to get pregnant.. got pregnant.. but when she found out it was a boy - she had an abortion! (sounds like a scene with Michael Corleone in "The Godfather").
BUT… I tend to think that it should be legal to have an abortion when there is a diagnosis of Down's Syndrome. The first problem I see with that is... doctors would abuse that loophole and declare that a baby had Down's Syndrome to justify a 3rd term abortion even when the baby didn't have Down's Syndrome. For the sake of this debate.. let's assume that the baby DOES have Down's Syndrome. Should an abortion be allowed?
That get's touchy.. because what about when other ailments are diagnosed.. such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, blindness, deafness?

Funny how you can have a 3rd-trimester abortion for any reason unless the kid has Downs Syndrome.

That puzzled me also.
In Florida, technically people can't have 3rd trimester abortions.. but that is a joke. They even ADVERTISE for 3rd trimester abortions!
