A horrible injustice in the case of Etan Patz
-
In 1979 (38 years ago), a cute little boy vanished. There was virtually no evidence, but a suspect named "Ramos" was convicted of the crime in a civil court (which doesn't require all that pesky evidence).
There is a problem.. it turns out that Ramos didn't do it, but instead, this guy "Hernandez" did it. They convicted Hernandez of the crime in 2017.This is terrible for many reasons, including:
A man was convicted of a horrifying crime that he didn't commit.
The guilty man was allowed to be free for 38 years - presumably committing MORE horrifying crimes.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Etan_Patz
http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/14/us/etan-patz-case-conviction/index.html
Note that the CNN story only mentions Hernandez.. and NEVER mentions Ramos, who was the assumed to be the killer for 38 years! CNN sucks.

This kind of shit happens a lot. It's why I can't support the death penalty.
