This story really turns my stomach.
This Olympic gymnast claims that an Olympic doctor sexually abused her several times over the period of several YEARS. Excuse me.. if someone sexually abused me.. that would be the LAST time that person got the opportunity to sexually abuse me! WTF? Then, the went on to charge the doctor with possessing child pornography. I wonder about that. There is a big difference between having porn with 17 year olds in them.. and porn with 7 year olds in them. I know of a guy I knew from school who got caught having sex with a girl 17 years and 9 months old. 3 months more and it would have been legal. They caught him in the act, he pled guilty, the girl said it was consensual.. yet the guy was sentenced to 18 years in prison! (I don't really care because that guy was an asshole when I knew him). Then there was a recent case where an 18 year old boy told his mother than he had molested boys.. so of course she immediately turned him into the police so he might spend the rest of his life in prison. (Gee thanks mom!) That is ironic, considering if that guy was a few months younger, someone older than him could be charged with molesting HIM! It's also interesting that the 18 year old boy was not living with his mother. I wonder at what age mumsy kicked him out? That guy should go to court and claim he was molested by his mother and see how she likes it. "Mom used to tie me up and pee on me while she forced me to watch 'The View' on TV!"It's very dangerous to punish all these accused people so severely.. because it winds up with fairly innocent people's lives being destroyed, while at the same time the syndrome of "crying wolf" allows guilty people to get away with severe crimes.
Frankly, law enforcement and the judicial system are not competent enough to be punishing people so severely.. because they are so often WRONG.
