Gotham: Anyone watching? Season 4 starts tonight and I'd love to talk about it
-
I love all the comic book TV shows. I often theory craft with friends over on reddit but it'd be awesome to make some friends here to talk to about it, like, how incredibly sexy The Riddler is (nerdy, thin and pale does it for me but Alfred could eat crackers in my bed).
Or how about how amazing The Penguin is?
Wanna be besties with Selina?
Thoughts on where the season is going?
If this takes off it'd be fun to check in each week and talk all things Gotham.
-
I've seen it. I think they are speeding things up a bit. Especially last season.
The Riddler doesn't do it for me though. The actor is good but there are no sexy guys in the show (at least for me).
The Penguin owns the show.
I love the new Selina :cheesy2:
I think we will see Bruce growing into his roll of Batman and sinking a bit further into darkness. >:D
I wonder where is Barbara? -

I wonder where is Barbara?Speculation is that Babs is this universe's Harley Quinne. I hope so. I really liked batshit crazy Barbara, what was it, Barbara Queen. (lol)
Penguin does own the show. Did you read the comics? His character in the comics is really boring by comparison – I love RLT!
Really, none of the characters do it for you? What's your type then, actor wise?
Didn't you love the cat and mouse between Selina and Bruce? I never truly understood why Bruce never invited her to live at his mansion. I think they hinted at her pride but...
What's your feeling on Penguin and Riddler as a couple? Ivy c o u l d make a love potion at some point in the show.
-
I don't see Barbara as someone's lackey. She is too independent but she is crazy enough.
I haven't read the comics just saw the movies and read up on the Wikipedia :)))
Matt Lanter, Tyler Hoechlin, Chris Wood are cute as actors and have sexy characters in their shows. Ben McKenzie was cute but he just doesn't seem to feel his role lately. Maybe because of Morena :cheesy2: And she was at her best as the evil Leslie
Bruce and Selina have chemistry but they need to split them up to keep up to the comics.
I don't see Penguin and Nygma as a couple. Especially if they need to become the villains from the comics. Honestly Penguin deserves better. Maybe Penguin and Butch?
I like new Ivy she is right kind of crazy and devious.
It will be interesting seeing the new episode - I guess Ra's al Ghul will have to step in. -
Right, Leslie has nothing to do. Being evil made her interesting. I with the virus just took away her super strength and left her bat-shit insane. THAT could have been a cool development, especially if she were also pregnant and gave birth to "Barbara" (or more likely their son, who was a villain in the comics). Such wasted potential.
I want to see Ivy to more. I'm kinda hoping they put her with Selena and
BreastsTabatha, who looks like she might get some character development this season. Did you notice how Selina was happy that Tabatha was "worried about her"? Plus with Butch set to be Soloman Grundy, there's some hope for her this season.I don't care if Penguin gets together with Penguin but I love that they took the risk. Love is a great conflict for Penguin.
At the end, with Bruce falling through the window, I agree, I think Ra's will help him out.
So do you like any of the guys in the comic book themed TV shows? I like Oliver Queen, though Barry's more my type.
-
I didn't know that in the comics they had a son and he was a villain. I should probably read some comics That would have been a good story although he would have have to go through Ivy aging process for story to become intriguing soon.
It would be a shame if they left both Barbara and Leslie form the show. I think I saw Barbara in some trailer for this season so I think she is in.
Hahah. Yeah Tabitha'scleavagestory is getting interesting. She gets to train Selina and is not so obsessed with being a second string to Barbara or love crush to Butch. I think Selina sees more a role model (mother) in her than an actual romantic partner.
I'm not sure how to feel about Butch becoming Solomon Grundy. I liked Butch :cry2:
They did take a story with Penguin the good way when he fell for Nygma. He needed to become disappointed and alone and cold to everyone to become the true villain. And Nygma is not able to love - just being obsessed and cracking people like they are a puzzle. He probably would have killed the librarian girl just like the first one.
I like comic shows. Oliver is sexy (the body he has-too bad he doesn't work out shirtless more like he did in the begging) but they should limit the number of times he has to say: "Save the city". It's making me scream. I liked Roy (Colton Haynes) he was hot and Rory Regan (Joe Dinicol) too. Too bad they left the show. And I don't get why all the guys have to almost the entire show have cold stone faces
Barry(Grant Gustin) is so cute, like be my boyfriend cute . I like that show a lot better than Arrow. They are less dark and they too have major characters deaths as well.
I loved Supergirl's Mon-El (Chris Wood) - the character and the actor were both really good. He should come back. And the show is good and wacky.
I like DC shows but I think Marvel's SHIELD is way better (no hard feelings from DC guys). The stories and the characters are a bit more to my liking. But I digress from Gotham too much. -
New episode is out.
Barb is one hot blond. I love the new chick band. Ivy is getting better.
Even Gordon was interesting. The Crane was sexy.
But Bruce was boring - they are rushing the Batman thing. -

But Bruce was boring - they are rushing the Batman thing. How much do you wanna bet the Barabara was brought back by Ras Al Ghoul's Lazarus Pit? Did you notice how sane she was? I'm thinking the waters not only brought her back from the dead but fixed the crazy. If I'm right he's behind her operation and wants Barbara to bring Selina into the web to test/torment Bruce. What do you think?
Ivy, wow, it looks like they're going with the green version of her.
Ivy is the one character on the show who's had it the worst. He father was gunned down, she was homeless and alone as a child, was aged prematurely, and has been Penguin's punching bag – and she isn't even old enough to have had her first date. She's still a ten-year-old! Now she just drank some mumbo jumbo and will turn into something green and poisonous. Damn. Sucks to be her.
You think Gordon was interesting? Oh, he pissed me off. And why did they even bother giving him the toxin if he was only going to fight off in a couple of minutes? The Hatter's drugs knocked him on his ass. That was interesting. I hope that means Scarecrow is going to work on a more lethal version of his toxin but then it just becomes a rehash of the Court of Owls plot.
Do you think they're going to let Scarecrow develop his toxin and continue on with the plot for Dark Knight? The subtitle of the season is A Dark Knight. If so, Ras will have to meet Johnathan. I bet Barbara would broker the deal, might even get her crazy back in the process.
I kinda like the Batman progression. It wouldn't have made sense had he not been kidnapped and trained by The Sensei. I thought they fit it in nicely.
Where do you think think the story is going? Falcon? I hope not.

If they do the Scarcrow plot then they'll basically be doing the whole Alice Tech thing again. Won't happen. I think this is bait and switch.
-
I completely forgot the Lazarus Pit. That is possible. But she looked more like she was holding the crazy back than being sane.
But luring Selina to get to Bruce seems possible and fun.
Poor Ivy but maybe now she will get powerful enough to be more independent.
Well Gordon is the main character - they have to portrait him as a moral compass.
I haven't read the comics so I don't know much about Scarecrow but he will probably make a stronger version of the poison. But I hope that won't be the mail plot like with the Alice Tech because they did that already and it was a bit too much. But I like the character of Johnathan.
We even so Leslie but just for a minute.
Court of Owls was portrayed like a bunch of amateurs and not people who run Gotham for a long time.
Ra's might help Crane make the poison - his mission is to destroy Gotham after all.
When the show started it was meant to be the Gotham before Batman but the ratings went down and they had to speed it up. But all Bruce needs now is a cape and he is Batman, and he is what 15 years old  -
I'm laughing my ass off at how Alfred is somehow okay with all of this. Shitty guardian of the MILLENNIUM! But I'm so happy that they're actually finally "Smallville"-ing Bruce that I don't care. Still, I don't see how Alfred's sporadic training and a couple days (weeks?) of forced League of Shadows training could possibly make him ready for such a huge step.
….and why isn't David Mazouz lifting weights yet?? Seriously! It should've been put in his contract or something. If you're gonna accept the role of Young Bruce Wayne, you'd better be prepared to eventually start working out! I mean, I'm having trouble conjuring up enough verisimilitude to handle the idea of "Li'l Brucey" kickin' some ass. Stephen Amell needs to have a SERIOUS discussion with that kid.

Alfred said way back in season one that his parents gave him strict orders to let Bruce do as he wants so he'll become the person he wants to be – and he let him! Man, if Bruce were my ward he'd have got a switch across his arse and would be in school. #NeverHomeschool
I thought he'd gotten much more fit in the three-month break. You have to cut him a bit of slack because he's still growing, but he cut a fine silhouette.
If Bruce is the prophecy, then that could go a long way in explaining why he's a fighting prodigy.
@Nista, you're totally right about The Court. They built them up for three seasons then made them into amateurs. The Defenders did the exact same thing with The Hand.
According to the casting notes, Poison Ivy isn't going to be in the next three episodes. So when we see her she'll have transformed into someone else, into something else.
-
I completely agree it is strange Alfred somehow being OK with a kid going around fighting criminals  and Bruce getting so good at fighting in a short period of time. It is a comic book thing but could they make it real :crazy2: (the fast martial arts thing I mean)
I hope they show more Ra's and too bad Ivy isn't on sooner.
And I agree with The Defenders and The Hand. Although I really like the show - even Danny Rand ;D -
-
Hahaha. He is a lost boy. If he were raised by wolves and couldn't speak it would be OK. He spent most of his years indoctrinated by monks for a sacred mission. So I kind of get his behavior. It is stretched but he is an idealist with a single purpose. Don't hate me :sorry: and the actor is cute so that is a plus
Hopefully something similar will happen to Bruce with Ra's and that would explain his martial arts abilities -
I think this might be my favorite season, and I have no problem figuring out why: Jim Gordon and the GCPD are taking a back seat to Bruce Wayne's ascension.
I loved that Bruce started learning about acting and disguises. That being said, "Bruce the Brat" at Penguin's auction was absolutely cringe-worthy. I had to pause repeatedly so that I could take some time to shiver uncomfortably.
I was terribly amused by Bruce's "LET HIM!! in response to Alfred's concern that Ra's would come for the knife. Considering the utterly laughable security at Wayne Manor, and how EVERYONE waltzes in and takes whatever they want, Bruce might want to use some of that auction money to bid on a fuckin' clue! And since no intruder leaves without beating the shit out of Alfred first, Alfred should've gone to that auction with some copies of his résumé. Oops, I meant to say: Copies of his CV.

Sorry, but I spent the entire episode staring intently at that kid's body :pope: (mind out of the gutter, people) and I honestly don't think he's putting any effort into looking the part. Just my opinion. I'll change it whenever Bruce's head doesn't look too large for his frame. I don't mean to sound cruel. David certainly looks a hell of a lot better than I do. But the difference is: I'm not accepting money to portray Batman.

I'm part of a Gotham community on Reddit and a few on YouTube and you're the first and only person I've heard criticize the auction scene which everyone has, literally, said was the best part of the show so far. I agree. I laughed – I loved it.
I might have said this before but this is the first time a live-action version of the Batman has ever fleshed out the Bruce Wayne character/persona. We're watching it unfold in real time. I feel they're doing a fantastic job in developing him.
As to Bruce's body, what are you expecting? :bithfight: He's a teenager. His body is being bitchslapped this very moment by puberty. :nutki: If his head is too big it's because the plates in his head are shifting. :crazy2:
What do you think they're going to do with Riddler? I was a little disappointed they killed his fan.
Oh, and you're right about Jim. Less Jim, please. Have you noticed he's become the thing he most hated about the GCPD when first arrived in Gotham? In the pockets of the mob. What an asshole. I really hate him. Still, I'm hoping they honor the Damien storyline by having Falcon's daughter get pregnant by him. She would be the Talia to his Batman and we'd finally get Jim a child.

I should've been more specific. I only hated the opening part where he was making a complete ass of himself with regards to the painting, followed by his excruciating greeting to the Penguin and the painful dialog that follows. After Barbara shows up, however, everything instantly gets better, and it does indeed become the best part of the show. Bruce's catty remark to Barbara (….for someone like YOU!) was delicious, and I delighted in the wonderfully dramatic way that Oswald ran to the podium and completely fucked up Barbara's plans. SUCH a nasty, vicious queen thing to do, brilliantly depicted by a homosexual actor portraying a homosexual character.
As to Bruce's body, what are you expecting?
I'd post pictures of some 16 year-old bodybuilders, but I think I'd get banned.
What do you think they're going to do with Riddler? I was a little disappointed they killed his fan.
The Riddler's cunning intellect is his best feature. Without it, he's…....well, let me put it this way: "What is nowhere, but everywhere, except where something else is?" They need to fix him, FAST!
Oh, and you're right about Jim. Less Jim, please
Hi. I know I killed your son and all, but I really need yet another favor from you?!? If they're going to give Jim balls that big, they should at least allow us to see them.
-
I liked the auction scenes. Bruce was a real brat. And him and Barbara were hilarious. More Bruce and Barb
It does seem Falcone is a solution for every problem Jim has which isn't that bad - I like Falcone - he is old gangster cool.
His daughter seems like a great character. Maybe she will bring some eye candy from her old show.
And Ra's and Barbara I like them working together
@cteavin You were right-she was brought back by the Lazarus pit :clap2: -

He was born on a Monday AND in a swamp! (I'm so happy.) Since Ra's brought magic into Gotham (he mentioned it last week) then all they need to do in reveal that there was an ol' voodoo spot 'round there and they've got the perfect blend on Indian Hill camp and campy magic.
Did you not love the of Mice & Men pairing of Nygma and Solomon?
Do you think Lee is one of the few who were permanently changed by the virus?
Is Babs pregnant with Ra's spirit baby – how are they bringing him back because we know he's not dead, dead -- no one dies in Gotham for good (unless they're blown up).
Why are they rehashing the plot line from Season One where Fish has that young girl fall in love with her making the young girl remind Falcon of his mother? There must be a reason for doing this.
And Dr. Pyg is coming for Halloween! :clap2: :hot2: :ok2:
