Connected or not?

I feel as if people have never been so connected as they are now and yet many of them feel so alone. Is this because the bulk of their social life is spent online? How do we connect again?
Never before have we been this connected globally. Our world is much smaller due to social media and online messaging apps.

I think as with any social app, they all perpetuates these crafted profiles of success and I tend to find that people who spend too much times on them compare too many aspects of their own life with these filtered Avatars. Especially when you're surrounded by them and whom seem to live such interesting and perfect lives when yours is the opposite. People are too concerned about themselves too really bother about anyone else.
