Would this have been a good idea for Trump?

It's has been no secret for decades that Senator John McCain is a complete asshole, and only cares about embellishing his own legacy.
However, because his daddy was a Navy Admiral, and he plays the "veteran" card to the max.. there is no way to get his ass out of Senate.BUT! What if Trump had offered McCain some position such as Secretary of State or some other position.. to get McCain out of the senate.. forcing a republican special election to fill that seat… and then FIRE McCain!
Good idea?
In fact, it could be done easily. Here's a hypothetical speech for Trump "Secretary of State McCain is a great guy, he's fantastic. I know he would never resign because he loves his country so much. However, due to his age, and his diagnosis of brain cancer, it would be cruel to keep John on as Secretary of State. Therefore, with deep regret, I must let John go so he can enjoy his retirement and seek the medical attention he needs". Trump could further embellish that bullshit by giving McCain a Medal of Freedom award.
Trump could then whisper in McCain's ear... "so long sucker! don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! Buh BYE!" -

Are you serious? That's not subverting the process. It IS a possible scenario but McCain wouldn't take it. Julian Assange doesn't hate the USA. He exposed Bernie being cheated - you are ignoring that they cheated him. How do you feel about the DNC deliberately cheating Bernie? Is that OK with you? I think McCain is done anyway.
