Journalism vs Tabloid Trash
-
Decades ago, publications such as newspapers and magazines tended to be credible, and reflected reality.
The exception was tabloid journalism, such as that done by various publications you find in the checkout line of a grocery store. They mix current news with fiction to produce tantalizing headlines of bullshit. A few examples: Enquirer, Globe, Sun, Inquisitor, etc.
Those publications are entertainment to some, and "news" to the mentally challenged - such as Moonbats.
I'm sorry to say that Elvis is not still alive.. The Queen is not a lizard shape shifter.. Bea Arthur was not a descendant of BigFoot.. and Regis Philbin was not abducted by a UFO.
I lived in London, England for nearly a year, and I am well aware of how their "fake news" works. They have a LOT of publications, all competing with each other.. so they write the most absurd crap to grab people's attention to get purchased. They figure if they throw enough shit against the wall, often enough, that SOME of it might actually stick!
The same thing is happening in the USA now. Forget about truth and reality.. its BORING! News reporters stopped reporting the news long ago. Now, they are all self-appointed commentators and interject their own twisted, biased agendas into everything. If you have a strong stomach - try to get through an episode of Don "Sour" Lemon on CNN and you will see what I mean.
Decades ago, ONLY the most senior members of news organizations such as the editor or news director would offer their opinions on current events. Now, every yoyo whose ass fills a seat in a studio is given the free rein to pollute the airwaves with their nonsense.…And then they wonder why DrWas' polls are always skewed to the absurd side of things... It's because the media have become a source of Disinformation rather than Information.
