Senate backs Trump's arms sale to Saudi Arabia
-
WASHINGTON — The Senate narrowly backed President Trump’s proposed arms sale to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, in an unexpectedly close procedural vote that reflected mounting concern over the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen’s war.
Senators voted, 53 to 47, to pave the way to sell $500 million in precision-guided munitions to Saudi Arabia, batting back an effort to block the deal and saving Mr. Trump from what would have been a major embarrassment just weeks after he traveled to Riyadh and announced plans for $110 billion in arms sales.
Mr. Trump has painted the deal as one that will improve the kingdom’s military capability as well as create American jobs.

The most incredible thing about that vote is that 47 (I guarantee all Democraps) voted to block it. Who are the obstructionists again?
These Moonbats happily attempt to derail the country just to further their own political agendas. It's also ironic that these same moonbats who are constantly bashing Trump for not being nice to Muslims.. attempt to block an arms sale to the muslims! -
You should really try reading the full article before you spout off your opinions so you don't get caught in a blatant lie. A few republicans, including Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, voted against the sale. So much for your "guarantee." ::)
“Today I stand up for the thousands of civilians who are being killed in Yemen,” Mr. Paul said on the Senate floor before the vote. “Today I stand for the millions of voiceless children in Yemen who will be killed by the Saudi blockade. Today I stand up for saying we, the United States, should no longer be fueling the arms race in the Middle East. It’s come to no good.”
BTW, are you saying that we should be selling arms to Saudi Arabia, which has been using some of the money to support the Islamic state?
This is not an exclusively left or right issue: people from both political parties, like Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, have been helping Suadi Arabia and perpetuating the war and this is something we should all be concerned about. -

That's exactly what I've said in other threads on this topic. No matter who is President, they will sell arms to Saudi. Unless something extreme happens it won't end.

I said that I guarantee that all the democrats voted against it. I have also mentioned that the democrats all stick together and vote as a block - regardless of their own free will. Republicans don't stick together and vote like mindless zombies. There are a few - actually quite a few - that are flakey and don't go along with the rest of the republicans.
Regardless, what I said was entirely correct. -

No I did not; what you said was this:
The most incredible thing about that vote is that 47 (I guarantee all Democraps) voted to block it.
You claimed that all 47 who blocked were democrats, which was false. Rand Paul, Lee, and Heller and, all republicans, voted to block, along with independents King and Sanders. Only 42 democrats voted to block, not 47.

This is also false; 5 "flakey" (I think you mean flaky) democrats (Nelson, Manchin, McCaskill, Donnelly, Warner) voted not to block. So much for your false implication that all democrats vote regardless of their own will.
Regardless, what I said was entirely correct.
As I said earlier, no, it wasn't. Feel free to check the senate role call for yourself.
I'll say it before and I'll say it again; read the story and at least do some research before you put out alternative facts AKA falsehoods.
