A brief history of Islam is that they amounted to just about nothing for roughly 1450 years (Islam did not exist before 610).  Then with WW2, they became increasingly important because of their oil reserves.  Some muslim countries have already depleted their oil reserves.  Other muslim countries had money coming in faster then they knew what to do with it, and mostly pissed it away.

But now, the tides have turned.  While the muslims oil reserves continue to shrink, the world is no longer held hostage to oil.  Fracking has made the USA an oil exporter instead of oil importer (although we still buy oil from Canada because its so cheap).

Saudi Arabia has already stopped giving away money like water to it's citizens, and has begun TAXING it's citizens.

So, what bodes for the future of Islam once their source of $$$ is gone?  I guess they can still sell dates and pistachios.
